A grand old vintage flag
wears it’s red, white and blue
waving in the wind and weather for so many years.
This old flag was a thrift store find not long ago and was mixed in with about a half a dozen others.
After sorting through them all, I decided on
the one that was made of cotton and looked a little faded and worn
like it had flown in the wind for years and years.
like it had flown in the wind for years and years.
To me, it shows that it might have been displayed in for a time showing it’s importance or pride
and meant something to the person who displayed it.
It is simply tucked it into the rungs of the old orchard ladder in the cottage
I love the silvery rustic wood against the colorful flag and how it brings that whimsical
Americana touch and a meaning to the room.
Americana touch and a meaning to the room.
Today in America – we are honoring, remembering and thanking
the men and women who have served and sacrificed for our country
Have a safe Memorial day everyone.

Beautiful, Courtney. I keep an assortment of old flags in a basket on our sun porch. It feels good to see these time worn bits of patriotic history.
