Do you remember back when you were little
when you would have sleepovers with your best friends on the weekends
and stay up late
eating junk food
(and not worrying about the extra calories)
and chatting until all hours of the morning?
That is kind of similar to going to a conference
where you know so many of your blog friends will be.
And one that is filled with laughing and joking and having fun
all while learning about this amazing crazy world of blogging
and social media.
And today- I am excited to share that I am going to joining these amazing ladies as a
Mentor at Haven Conference this year.
And if you are coming over from one of my favorite blogs-
Sand & Sisal–
Welcome!!
This week- all those ladies on that graphic up there are joining together
in a blog hop to share a bit so you can get to know us better.
Basically, we are going to be helping, answering questions ‘mentoring’ bloggers in smaller groups at Haven.

Basically, we are going to be helping, answering questions ‘mentoring’ bloggers in smaller groups at Haven.
Here are a few questions that we are all jumping in and answering:
1. How many years have you been blogging?
I have been blogging for over 5 years (can you believe it?!)
I can’t believe it sometimes. It seems like I have always been blogging-
and yet, somehow like I just started.
and yet, somehow like I just started.
And even though it doesn’t seem like that long really, it is something that I can’t imagine not doing every day. I honestly am so grateful to have found myself doing something that I love- and to have found myself doing something that has opened doors to so many other amazing opportunities as well. Some days I think about it and am truly in awe of how much my blog has changed me and my life.
I truly feel blessed to be ‘blogging’ and to work with some of my absolute favorite companies.
2. What is your favorite DIY project you’ve completed?
My FAVORITE DIY?
That is a tough one. It might not even be totally fair to ask. 😉
I actually have a lot of favorites- but I will just share a few.
I think one of my favorites will always be my Charles Faudree inspired sofa.
It was a mess of old literal rats nest…but the second I saw it- I saw red checks and charm and I tackled transforming it.
And a favorite (crazy) before and after? This bathroom– don’t judge the before-
our house was a tear down that we didn’t tear down-
and this bathrooms before kind of says it all…it was what it was.
And this bathroom which was recently completed- and that convinced me that it was possible to fall in love with a bathroom.
3. What is something significant you learned from a conference?
Gosh so much really- but I think from the very first time I attended a conference on blogging- I learned the importance of of making connections in person. Even if you already know someone- that face time is invaluable.
It creates a strong connection with someone you may already feel you have a strong connection with- and with someone you just met earlier that day- it is the start of a friendship and relationship.
4. What is one piece of advice you would offer a blogger–new or otherwise–
who is going to Haven?
Take all of your preconceived expectations- and take them right out of your suitcase.
Don’t go with those expectations or ideals or what you think it will be like – go with just you- and get ready to have an amazing time.
Haven is learning, growing, making connections and new friends and learning about how to build your blog and all while having FUN.
Ohh…and don’t forget to pack your dancing shoes.
😉

What an amazing group of talented and inspiring women. I am so happy for you all. You are all incredible at what you do. I would love to go to Haven but I don't have a home decor blog or design blog like you all do.
Have fun ladies. I am sure it will be wonderful.
