This months Lowes challenge was all about adding some festive and sparkly touches
for New Years and the first thing that came to mind for me was twinkly lighting

Being in California~
we spend much of the year outdoors and this year with the outdoor fireplace
we find ourselves wanting to be outdoors even more.
We decided to add a little festive lighting to the outdoor entertaining area
with a few strands of LED string lights.
LED lights are fantastic for saving on energy costs and though they cost more to purchase,
they are well worth it in the amount you save when running them.
Lowes has a huge selection of LED lighting and even more of them
with the strings of lights they got in for Christmas

We found a type that was warm and yellow when they were on and knew they would be perfect.
We needed 5 sets of lighting to go around this structure ~ and had a little leftover for the tiny tree.
I am loving that we will be able to use these lights year round for ambiance too.
About a month ago, I picked up several paperwhite bulbs from Lowes
and have been growing them on the window sill in the kitchen.
Paperwhites are favorites for Christmas and winter decorating
I placed their individual pots in a galvanized bin for the fireplace

The beautiful silvery faux fur throw is from Allen and Roth which is also at Lowes
It’s perfect for warming up when it gets a little chilly~ love the color
and it was just $21- amazing price too!

Twinkly lights to set the mood, a favorite bottle of wine
a fire set up for the fireplace and a warm throw to keep the chill away…
Yep, I think we are ready to usher in the New Year.

I am loving your outdoor structure! It looks like you are all ready for tonight. We usually ring in the new year outdoors too. But living in Minnesota we are surrounded with two feet of snow. This year ice skating and sledding (after dark)are on the agenda, and also our bonfire pit will be going. Your fireplace area is so beautiful, I know it will be a wonderful evening.

I love that throw! And I will be on the lookout for some warm white LED lights. I have a ton of the old style bulbs, and love the look of them, but they do add to your electric bill. Pretty display!
