A beautiful table is something you always think of with Thanksgiving…
well, aside from the food of course.

Growing up, we always went to my Grandmothers house
Yes, over the fields and through the woods…
she lived in the mountains 🙂
It was always so much fun to get together with everyone
and my grandmother made the most wonderful food~
our family favorite is her mashed potato casserole.
I love the decorating part of the holidays as well.
I have been leaning towards natural decorations recently.
I love sparkly glitz and glam for Christmas-
the more the merrier!
Maybe it’s thoughts of the Pilgrims or the earthy color schemes
but Thanksgiving speaks more rustic to me.

So, for this table
I was thinking simple cottage charm.
Warm & welcoming,
Earthy colors and textures…
A natural tablescape that allows
good friends & conversation to
take center stage.

I found the perfect elements for my table at Lowes
and I started looking in the garden department
where I found burlap, urns, gorgeous flowers and
darling little trees.
These little trees remind me of topiaries
I wrapped each of them in a square of burlap and tied them with twine.
They will easily carry over into Christmas decor as well.

I have seen gorgeous moss sheets used as tablecloths before-
Love that look
and so burlap and coconut sheets from the indoor plant department at Lowes
inspired the texture and color.
Laying them down the center of the table
they created a natural table runner.
I layered some of my white pumpkins that I already had
as well as several larger pumpkins placed inside
charming harvest berry wreaths purchased at Lowes
to create a simple centerpiece.

Though, I already planned to use my favorite seashell dishes,
I was looking for a unique placemat or charger.
I found these cork squares in the closet organizing section
A pack of 4 of them was under $10.00
and I love the simple look of them as chargers or placemats.
I also found cork rounds that go under plants that would work as well.
priced around $6.00 each if you prefer a round look.
These little metal candle lanterns were marked down to just $.24 each
yep .24 cents (WOW!)
Several grouped together on the sideboard and a few on the table adds
just enough light for dinner.

The metal house numbers were perfect
for a little bit of charm.
For just a couple dollars a piece- I picked a bunch up
and using twine I simply tied them around the chairs

I love the idea of using them in several other projects too.

I was compensated for this post as a member of the Lowes Creative Ideas Network of Creators and Influencers but the designs and opinions are my own.

Courtney, I love your rustic setting. I am working on my tables, too.
I just bought those same house numbers at Lowe's last week for the bargain price of 10 cents each! I am using mine to decorate the bins in my space in a local antique and crafters mall. Love, love, love the idea of the coconut sheets as a table runner…very creative.
Wow first Kmart and now Lowes!! You are so lucky to work for them! How did you get in contact with Lowes for designing for them? LOVE what you came up with! xo Rachel
Hi Courtney! Your table settings are gorgeous! I love the rustic, natural colors that Thanksgiving and fall in general draw us to and then the switch to the more glitzy and shiney tones of Christmas. I have never heard of coconut sheet. Did it come from Lowes as well? I really enjoy trying new and unique things for the holidays. One year I carved a turkey into a pumpkin and used it with leaves, flowers, etc for my centerpiece. Now THAT was unexpected! LOL Thank you for the wonderful ideas! Hugs, Leena
I love the numbers on the chair backs. The table looks fabulous and inviting.
That is absolutely beautiful Courtney! I love the cork as the placemat/charger and the use of the house numbers is genius. Every detail is perfection! 🙂
