Small on space but want a whole lot of Christmas magic? I hear you. The good news is sometimes those dainty little small trees can pack a big old Christmas magic punch. Today I am sharing one of my recent Love it or Leave it treasures- and how I used it to create a sweet little tree in a vintage basket moment.
Love it or Leave it
Oh how I love how this sweet tree turned out. I will be sharing all the details in a minute- first I want to share this Love it or Leave it find. The vintage basket- a baby bassinet on wood wheels. This was a thrift store find and charmed me instantly. I had several ideas of where I would use it- in the bathroom with rolled up towels inside. The laundry room for all the laundry. The guest bedroom for extra blankets and bits for guests, etc. There are so many possibilities. And then when I brought it inside- of course, a wee tree had to go into it for a Christmas magic moment.
So would you have brought this vintage baby bassinet on wheels home? Or leave it at the thrift store for someone else to enjoy?

Christmas Tree in a Vintage Basket
Can you even with how cute this chubby little tree is? I always love little trees -they are so easy to put anywhere for a little Christmas cheer. And in the vintage baby bassinet- perfectly sweet. I kind of think this would be so cute for our new baby granddaughter Sophie in her nursery but it is just a simple sweet tree that could go anywhere really. And you could change the bows to any other color and it would be darling too.

Vintage Decorations
Spoiler alert- half of the ornaments on this tree are thrifted vintage.

I found boxes of vintage baubles, a set of glittery gold bows, the bronze santa and more while thrifting.

They all landed on this little tree mingling with clip on birds and candles.

Lovely Ribbons
For a touch of sweetness, blush ribbons were perfect to finish the look. Overall, the tree is minimally decorated but feels so sweet to me.

What do you think of this wee tree in a vintage basket?

I have the baby bassinet my mom used fo me and my younger siblings, so it is 60 years old. But nt natural wicker it’s one of those white painted wicker with the bassinet swivel attahed shade. I actually had another form my in law side and used them when my twins were born. Only have one, and have only stored blankets in it above a amoire, with legs folded. I am now inspired to perhaps use it for the holidays, thank you!
Oh that Baby bassinet would have gone home with me! and I just love the tree you put in it and how you decorated it! I just scored a grapevine sleigh at an antique store and now I think I’m going to do the same. It already has lighted packages in the sleigh so why not tuck a tree in there too! Thank you for all the great decorating ideas courtney! you are a master!
