This week has been a busy one- celebrating Juliette’s birthday, doing the furniture shuffle and spending some time organizing a few things around the house.
Happy Birthday Juliette

Juliette is turning 1 year old very soon and so- we had a bit of an early birthday party to celebrate. It was a small gathering with family at my sons house- and had a Moana theme. She didn’t really know what the fuss was about of course, but it was a lot of fun watching her play and taste cake for the first time. We didn’t get too many behind the scenes photos to share- but I will be taking some 1 year portraits soon and I will share those shortly.

Furniture shuffle
With that big new antique cupboard in the dining room- the furniture has been shuffling in the house. Several of you asked where the big cupboard will go since it isn’t behind the table any longer. I have actually bene thinking about moving it for awhile now- and am happy to have it in our bedroom. Which then means other things shuffle out of the bedroom. And down the hall and then into the cottage, etc. I am actually getting ready to shuffle a few things to my sons houses since they both are in need of some furniture after moving and I have several things that we are not using.

Ingenius Mr. Fairchild
You might remember that we planted this David Austin rose last year- and it is a blooming away already. They are dainty little blooms- but so ruffly and pretty.

Garden Pots & Geraniums
Geraniums in pots on the steps is always a pretty thing. This year, we have a few geraniums that have come back and are blooming away already- but we are adding a few white ones in pretty little pots. I am also planning to add some trailing plants like verbena and petunias. These petunias are from autumn but are blooming away already again this year. I will share an outdoor porch update when we get everything together.

The Silkies & Kevin
They are loving the warmer weather so much and have been enjoying meandering out onto the lawn and open areas to scratch and sun themselves a bit. I sat and watched them for a while today while we were doing some yard work.
We have a crow that keeps coming into the goat pen and stealing some of their food and every time it freaks the chickens out and they raise a ruckus. Even though the crow seems much more interested in stealing from Kevin and Clover- I do worry it might try to grab one of the smaller silkies. Has anyone ever had crows bother their chickens? We do have a fake owl set up in the pen- he seems to have figured out that the owl doesn’t move and so isn’t a threat.

And in other news- Kevin enjoyed checking out the progress on the Avion trailer this weekend. Getting ready to share an update on what we are working on now.
Summer Travel
Looking at the calendar- we have a busy summer schedule already- and we aren’t even out of May yet. There are some family things on the calendar- and some travel planned as well. Excited to share more about what and where once we get everything solidified. Are you planning any summer travels this year?
Coming your way
Coming your way tomorrow- all about cleansing that big old antique cupboard and how to go about doing that if you have pieces in your home that you would like to do that to.
Happy Sunday.
A fake dead crow scares them away. I put it on top of our pergola so we cant see it, or you can hang it. (I just thought that looked morbid… )We got it on Amazon.
Your Granddaughter is adorable. How quickly the time goes by.
I love the way the Big Cupboard LOOKS IN ITS HOME. I look forward to seeing how you style it. You always give me ideas and inspiration.

Luv your “weekends,” too!!! franki
Courtney, so nice to hear your son and DIL had a little girl! Congratulations!!! She is a cutie… Happy 1st birthday! I guess it has been a while since I’ve stopped over. Been a busy year at school but we are out today so I can get back visiting my favorite bloggers and back writing more on my own. Hope you are doing well!! Nice to see you found a pretty camper and that your goats are doing well. Still miss my Nubians Ophelia and Sashay (from 4-H days in high school).
Happy Memorial Day hugs,
Barb 🙂
