Welcome to the weekend view. This week – it is all about baby shower fun, baby chicks and all things autumn planning.
Baby Shower Fun
Last weekend, family and friends celebrated baby boy Enzo and his parents. My son Cullan and his wife Diem are just a couple weeks away from welcoming their first baby.
They hosted a small gathering at their house that was a ton of fun- and we are all So Excited for them and our family and are counting the days until Enzo is here!
A request for a watermelon baby buggy for the shower meant playing with watermelon to create this cute little fruit salad.
Baby Silkies
Speaking of babies- I mentioned that while we were in Paris- eggs hatched and silkie babies joined to family. We decided to let the broody hens hatch a couple of eggs since they wanted to be momma’s so badly. What we didn’t know is that they would end up sitting on even more eggs after we left and so- we have quite a few adorable little fluff ball silkies that have hatched.
Frizzles
We also brought home a few silkie frizzle chicks to join our flock. It has been a hard year on our pet parent hearts with Sweet Pea passing and several of our chickens getting sick and passing also. I adore my chickens so much and have been missing quite a few of them.
And when we got home from Europe, we contacted the silkie lady who we got our babies from before and asked if she had any frizzles. She just so happened to have a handful of them that were older that she could sell to us. Of course, we went planning to get no more than 3 and came home with 6 haha. I mean, look at those faces. If she had another 6 – I probably would have brought them home too. A couple of these are Showgirl silkies- they are the ones that look like an ostrich and they are absolutely adorable. And one is a mille fleur ‘d Uccle frizzle – which is a new one for us. I will share more about our new chicks soon.
Vintage Treasures
Oops I did it again. I shopped marketplace and I found some vintage treasures that I am super excited about. We picked one of them up yesterday that I will be sharing soon- but a hint is that it is vintage garden again. Did I mention I am obsessed right now? I am.
Coming your way
A busy week on the blog- we have autumn porch decor, a pumpkin cheese dip recipe and the next installment of travel diaries.
Happy Weekend all.

I’m not sure why but these chickens seem so regal to me, I love them. Another baby how fun is that and a boy to boot.

Your silkies are so adorable. Makes me wish I could have chickens where I live. I’m so sorry to hear some of your chicks got sick and passed. That is heartbreaking.
The baby show and food look great. Congratulations to your son and his sweetheart.
