Welcome to the weekend view.
Weekend View
Family fun this week included a pizza party and lots of laughs. Enzo is officially a toddler- walking all over the place and pushing chairs around the kitchen island. He got a bit messy eating his pasta and pizza- I have a similar photo of his my babies looking just like this too – something about pasta sauce all over and in the hair I guess!
Juliette kept her auntie busy while she ran around outside and Jionni just loves to be held and carted around everywhere you go.
We all went to a big pumpkin patch recently and it was a ton of fun watching the babies. We are babysitting Juliette and Jionni next week so some park fun and lots of walks will be on the agenda.
Fire Damage
We had a bit of a fire mishap yesterday. Somehow a spark or flame escaped the fire screen and in a matter of seconds the greens by the mantel were in flames. We grabbed them quickly and tossed them out onto the patio and it took a hose to extinguish all the flames. Some damage on the floor and melted paint on the fireplace and screen -nothing major- but it could have been disastrous. We are thankful we were sipping coffee right by the fire and able to jump and get it out right away. And it is a reminder to be careful when burning a fire especially if you have greenery, fresh or faux arrangements or foliage anywhere near the fireplace- sparks can get crazy quickly.
Wedding Blooms
My brother is getting married in a few weeks and I am doing the flowers for them. A couple of days ago I picked up some grocery store blooms to tinker with a few ideas and get a good flower count for each arrangement. Even simple white flowers from the store look beautiful when arranged don’t you think?

THE ONLY SAFE FIRE IS ONE THAT IS COMPLETLY COVERED FROM TOP TO BOTTOM SIDE TO SIDE SO NO SPARK OR EMBER CAN ESCAPE. WE HAD A SPARK JUMP FROM BEHIND ONE OF THOSE FOLDING SCREENS ONTO THE SOFA, IT WENT UNNOTICED And the sofa started smoldering, thinking the fire was out we all went to bed. my sister got up to the smell of smoke, we were lucky to get out and call the fire departmaent. when they arrived they said that part of the house would have exploded in five more minutes.I can still smell the danger of smoke 60 years later. please be careful and make sure your fire box is completly covered.

So scary Karyn- I am glad you all are okay. The craziest thing is the firebox has a screen that does cover the whole opening and over onto the sides- but it wasn’t enough to keep any sparks or rogue paper flames from getting out. We most definitely will be keeping a close eye on it.

The fire doesn’t sound good but not much damage thankfully made me think of our bathroom fire we had last year before the bathroom was turned into a diability bathroom
