Happy September 1st everyone.
Summer has flown by this year and here we are starting September already.
This weeks weekend view has to do with lake photos, blackberry pie and boots that were made for walking.
Lake living
One of the best things about working as a photographer is getting to travel and work on fun inspired projects in some pretty amazing locations. And this week- we had two of them on the calendar.
We started out in Donner Lake for an evening shoot. We happened to be setting up and shooting right next to the road and right next to someone who was relaxing after spending 2 weeks backpacking through Tahoe. So while we worked- we had lively conversation and feedback – which was a lot of fun.
And that gorgeous lake really had me thinking about a lake cabin… this was a quick instagram snap for the evening as we packed up. Isn’t that sunset insanely gorgeous splashing across the lake? Though the snow that winter in Tahoe brings gives me quite a bit of pause on any lake living in this area. n
Boots and blooms
I grew up riding horses in the east bay and dreaming of meeting a handsome cowboy.
When I left California when I was 18- I traveled through the west to Colorado, Wyoming and up to Montana where I met my husband.
A big draw for a yes for our second date? He had horses and took me riding. So these boots make me think of that and come out often. 🙂
Homemade Blackbery Pie
So, this happened to come home with us this week.
We made a stop at a farm stand and this pie was chattering very loudly…. everything was homemade by the sweetest ladies. Aside from being tasty- it is pretty darn photogenic don’t you think? Stay tuned for a closer look at it this week here on my blog.

The lake looks so inviting. The part of Texas where I live it's never to late to go to the lake. A cowboy, my dream, I married a city slicker, he gave my boots to the Goodwill one day when I wasn't home. Goodby dream.
I live only a 3mintue drive from Lake Macquarie but rarely visit it
