Welcome to the weekend view.
Decking the halls
Yesterday I spent a few hours at my oldest sons house helping them to decorate for Christmas. With a cat & big dog with a wild tail – we kept it mostly shatterproof ornaments – and kept the bottom of the trees undecorated just in case the cat climbs the branches or the dogs get excited when running by.
We have a few more things we are decorating- including finishing the tree in the bedroom and adding a few wreaths and garlands. I will share a few snaps when we are done.
Mr. Cochin
We lost this sweet boy last week. Mr. Cochin was such a little ball of personality and charm. He was a tiny little guy maybe weighing just over 1 lb and he was the only chicken that wasn’t a silkie in the flock. He is buried in the pet cemetery and we are sure going to miss this sweet boy.
When the Cows Come Home
Living in the country you just never know what kind of creatures you will find outside the door. I had to take a quick snap of this beautiful cow on the side of the dirt road as I drove by- she didn’t seem to mind or notice me at all.
And then there is Kevin. When we open the gates up for the chickens and goats to go on out into the yard and wander- sometimes there are some chickens that just want to go play and scratch in the goats hay pile. Usually there are just a few of the roos that wander in the goat pen- we don’t keep them together all the time. So as you can see, Kevin is not too amused by them or sure what in the world they are doing in his playground. lol.
Buckets and baubles
Blush baubles and old red buckets that have faded to that beautiful pink. One of the things that is inspiring me this week and inspiring another one of the 12 Trees of Christmas. And the next one is coming your way shortly.
Juju
Oh this girl. I tell you- she is a fireball already. And she loves monkeys. So of course, I have all kinds of monkey toys in my cart at Amazon ready for Christmas. Look at that smile!
Coming your way
Trees, trees and more trees. We are working on wrapping up the rest of the 12 Trees this week and next weekend- and I am also finishing up the staircase garland, gift wrapping ideas and some holiday entertaining and twinkly candlelight tours- along with as much holiday posts as I can squeeze in the next few weeks.
Happy weekend all.

Hi Courtney! I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. Cochin will live in your hearts And memories. Your Juju needs a sock monkey! 🙂 Can’t wait to see you Do a “BLUSH” tree. I know you like to style those on a flocked TREE, but if there is any chance you could show your magic on a green tree, I would be so grateful! ❤️
