Romantic Holiday Table setting

Sometimes you just need a little 'twist' on traditional.
Like a romantic jewel toned Christmas.

Gold, purple, peonies and Christmas table

I am all about styling something with a little bit of a twist
on traditional for Christmas.
And today- it is all about gorgeous plums, pops of pinks and fuchsia
and glistening golds.

I won't even try to deny that I am definitely not what you might refer to as
'Traditional' color wise for Christmas.
Gold, purple, peonies, Christmas table idea- with jewel tones

I lean softer.
More romantic and shabby style.
With a bit of bling
and a whole lot of fresh flowers and greenery.

Fresh Christmas garland centerpiece

You won't find me in the 'Christmas' section at most stores
I am more likely to be in the produce
or the flower section...  for hours.
It's true.

And when shopping for elements for a table setting
flowers and fresh greens are only second
to dishes, stemware and flatware.

And these...
well, they are nothing short of amazing.

So delicate and detailed.

Embossed dishes, gold charger close up table setting

From their curvy edges
to their embossing
to the slightly blue tint
they are pretty much the type of dishes that
 dreams are made of.

Peonies, eucalyptus pods, Christmas greens elegant table setting

I also paired them with these gold detailed glass chargers.

Jewel tones, gold touches and fresh flowers Christmas table setting

Serious love.
You can see how much they pick up the tones in the flatware
and dessert dishes.

Gold, detailed dishes, purple Christmas table setting

The goblets are rich and elegant in a plum glass- which I think brings another unexpected touch to a holiday table. I happen to be a huge fan of jewel tones for Christmas- so these fit perfectly.
I also mixed in a hobnail.

Rich, jewel toned Holiday table setting

For the centerpiece-
a traditional mixed fir garland down the center and falling all the way to the ground
sets the tone.

One of my favorite additions to this garland?
The blue eucalyptus pods.

Details of place setting- gold flatware

I also added 3 smaller bouquets of peonies and roses
in little gold 'fleur de lis' glasses finish it.

Elegant table setting Christmas plums, blush, flowers

Simple and elegant and definitely on the non-traditional side for Christmas
But the best thing is that just like that Romantic Thanksgiving table setting I shared a few weeks ago
each of these elements can easily be intermixed and used again and again
all year long.
So it is like taking the table from elegant to rustic to in between and back again
with just changing a few items.

Fresh greens, gold, plums, flowers long view down outdoor Christmas table

And up next- sharing another look for the holiday season.
Starting with a few looks for Christmas and then sharing something
that is a little bit more of a walk on the 'glam' side for
New Years Eve.

I am sharing this setting as part of a tour today
and you don't want to miss the other bloggers and their inspirations

Don't they all look amazing already?

    1. Thank you Amy!! I love the outdoor setting (which I definitely seem to use all the time!) and especially in fall and winter- the semi bareness of the trees and difference in lighting just brings a whole other feeling to the setting. Loved your soft shabby blues!
