Simple Elegance & a romantic inspired Thanksgiving table

I  have a 'thing' for blush and amethyst and pretty little pumpkins.

Especially with a garland of seeded eucalyptus,
 a sprinkling of vintage brass,
 pretty pale blue dishes
and lots of blushing blooms.

It is no secret that I am a huge fan of table settings all year long.
And for Thanksgiving- I always think of a little rich and elegant type looks.

One with a little bit more bold colors-
but in warm and romantic inspired ways.
And I always love to set the Thanksgiving table outdoors and
include all of that natural ambiance as well.

There is something about a table set out under the stars
with a sprinkling of moody candle light
the sound of nature all around
and those rustic elements that play beautifully with the refined.

I rarely use a table cloth when setting the table outdoors-
that weathered wood speaks to me.
And is a perfect backdrop for pretty detailed plates and vintage inspired silver plate flatware.

For the centerpiece- I started with my favorite fresh green- seeded eucalyptus
and used a few sprigs to create a simple light garland.

I added in those vintage brass candlesticks with those 'dripless candles' that don't really seem to be dripless...
but between you and me...
I secretly adore when they look like this.

And rich amethyst colored wine glasses brings in
a sweeter romantic color touch.

But maybe my favorite part of this table setting
is the centerpiece itself.

The one that is set atop that seeded eucalyptus
surrounded by a plethora of little white baby boo pumpkins.

It is a trio of white pumpkin centerpiece planters.

I have seen pumpkins used as centerpieces for awhile now-so it isn't a new idea-
but my take on them is a little less orange
and a whole lot little more romantic.

With roses, sprigs of eucalyptus, stock, and other fillers-
I filled the first one- and then created two more.

And I am in love with how this trio marching down the center of the table turned out.

Simple, elegant and romantic inspired- and so easy to do.

  1. That's a gorgeous table. The weather here could be nice enough for dining outside, even in late November, but then again, it would be chilly when the sun sets. We have a table big enough for 12, but many of our friends have only smaller ones. The typical solution when inviting a crowd is to use some big plywood sheets on sawhorses--stores flat against a wall. And they use antique sheets that hang to the ground as tablecloths. I find it a clever solution, and definitely romantic.
