A fresh garland, green mercury glass baubles and twinkling houses in the firebox- today we are talking about this European inspired Christmas fireplace mantel.
Fresh Garland – Christmas Fireplace Mantel
I shared a peek at this mantel and fireplace styling last week and got so many questions about the houses and the garland on the mantel. I will share more about putting the houses together soon- today it is all about that beautiful garland on the mantel.
Fresh Eucalyptus Garland
It is no secret that I am a huge fan of fresh eucalyptus- I use it all year long in flower arrangements and love to use it during the holidays on the mantel and table as well. This garland is one that I custom ordered from the SF Flower Mart. It is a mix of different types of eucalyptus and a little bit of bay leaf as well.
Tied up with Ribbons and Bows
I wanted this mantel to have a very French or European look- and so, kept it simple. I added a double layer ribbon- blush with a velvet green and tied a bow and left the ends long and flowy.
Brass & Green Mercury Glass
On the top of the mantel, I placed several vintage brass candlesticks in the center and added a few green mercury glass baubles.
The candlesticks at each end are a carved wood- I got them several years ago.
All aglow
In the firebox- it is all about those pretty little houses stacked up on the hill like a little European village. I used 3 sets for this since this fireplace box is extra large- you can see more about them HERE and shop the look below.

Hi Courtney! So beautiful! The whole look of your master suite IS festive, yet simple and ELEGANT, utilizing the “greens”- I love it! Just curious, do you still have the deep smokey blue velvet quilt with this look? I was thinking of duplicating, but if you changed it, would like to see a PEAK before I decide! ☺️

I do have it on the bed! I absolutely love it and the warmth it brings to the decor (and me!) 🙂

Just GORGEOUS!! Love the thick mixed greens with long flowy ends on bows. I have an antique pair of wood candlesticks like yours…mine are gold gilt.
