Sometimes you find something that inspires decorating and changes in a room.
Even when you thought you had all that Christmas decorating wrapped up and it is
the week before Christmas.
Yes, I re-did the mantel in the bedroom after bringing a new beauty home with me.
And I am loving the simple vintage styling it has.
I loved the mantel before too… the soft faded whites and creamy vintage look wreath with flowers and ornaments. Totally my style.
But… then I found it.
A pretty vintage inspired mirror that spoke to me on so many levels.
The kind of levels that make your heart soar and your stomach flip flop as you walk aka slow run and push past people to grab it.
I brought it home. Played with it in the living room (where it might actually end up staying)
and then brought it into the bedroom for a bit of fun.
At first, I thought I would re-do the mantel with a fresh garland and bits of Christmas greens… but the white tree, the blushing peonies and that brassy gold goodness was beautiful as it was.
I liked simple best.
Just a few bouquets of peonies in little containers, vintage brass candlesticks with blush candles
and a couple mercury glass baubles. That was all it needed.
Except for one sweet little touch- a glittered deer.
Totally reminds me of my Grandmother and the little deer she used to put out each year.
