Did you know I start thinking about and planning for the holiday decor in the Summer?
Yes, I do.
But even so… with all that planning, prepping, jotting down of ideas…
I am a last minute girl over here sometimes.
Like when family is coming… or I have a party to host
Sometimes I just want a little bit more Christmas decor but don’t usually have time to do something big
like add a decorated tree to the guest bedroom, string Christmas lights on the house
or create a welcoming holiday front door.
So here are 3 things that I like to do to add a little bit more Holiday easily & in a hurry
with just a few items from Lowes
with just a few items from Lowes
several potted trees
burlap (garden center)
chunky bucket
fresh Christmas wreath
fresh Christmas garland
#1. Christmas wreath
So simple-yes, but adding a Christmas wreath to a wall in a guest bedroom
or in the kitchen or the front door~ brings the Christmas cheer instantly.
#2. Potted living trees
Potted living trees are perfect for a last minute Holiday touch in a bathroom
in the kitchen on the counter or on the dining table.
I love them everywhere.
I love them everywhere.
Simply wrap them in their container in burlap on the windowsill
(you can find burlap in the garden section of Lowes)
or you can place them in a bucket
or silver container for a little more elegance.
or silver container for a little more elegance.
#3. Front Door Decor
One of my favorite ways to add Holiday in a hurry with potted trees is to simply gather them
together with pinecones.
I love the simplicity of this and it creates a beautiful vignette that is perfect for inside
or outside of your front door to welcome guests.
Loving the silver bucket found in the paint section at Lowes~ a perfect pot for a larger tree.
With just a few cut branches of pine, cedar or even just cut a few feet from a length of Christmas garland
and you can customize it as you like- with berries, pinecones, more ornaments.
So easy to make in just a few minutes~ just tie together with a ribbon, burlap, ornament and voila!
Of course, adding a ready to go fresh wreath and garland
is easy for last minute front door decor as well.
Last week I shared our front door wearing it’s Holiday greens from Lowes.
and a fresh wreath- $12
Inexpensive, beautiful and easy to add quickly.
You can also customize the garland if you would like.
This one has added boxwood and holly clippings which I simply tucked into the pre-made garland wires.
Look around your yard for things like magnolia, lichen covered twigs and greens
and add them to your garland by wiring them to it.
So there you have 3 quick and easy ways to add Holiday in a hurry to your home
if you find yourself scrambling at the last minute to wrap up your decor before guests arrive
Happy Tuesday!
