Worn and weathered and well loved patina.
Gilded details and lots of simply pretty.
All mingling with a huge amount of charm and warmth.
On Saturday, I had the pleasure of visiting Brooke & Steve Giannetti’s
absolutely stunning Patina Farm in Ojai.
A house is simply a house until someone sees it as a home and feeds that vision.
Patina Farm was a vision from the start born from a lifestyle that was merely a dream in the beginning for Brooke and Steve.
And they took that dream and vision and designed this amazingly charming home filled with an
abundance of detail and of course,
patina.
I have known Brooke online for several years and when she invited me to attend
their book release party at their home in Ojai-
I was thrilled to step right into the pages of their book
and to finally meet her in person.
She is as sweet and gracious as can be
and Patina Farm?
Well, literally knocked my socks off.
Let’s take a closer look at what inspired me.
(which admittedly, was everything)
When you step inside Patina Farm- you step into the living room filled with European charm.
I love the mix of antiques and beautiful linen covered furniture
and of course, the patina.
Outside the living room window. Sigh…
An abundance of light fills this home
courtesy of those amazing floor to ceiling windows and french doors.
Next to the living area- you will find the dining room
and on the other side of that fireplace-
the breakfast nook area
and the kitchen.
So gorgeous.
You can see a peek of Brooke’s office area down the hall-
one of my favorite spaces.
And it looks out into a garden and the charming little goat area.
Again- window goals.
Back to the kitchen- just outside the window-
a beautiful table set in the garden for enjoying a
cup of coffee while waking up.
One of the things that I loved most about Patina Farm is the abundance of natural light
and fresh air that filled every room courtesy of the stately windows and doors
that open fully to bring the outside in.
Being someone who loves to live outdoors
I found their gardens and outdoor living areas as inspiring as the indoors.
See that light glowing inside that room?
The bedroom was another one of my favorite rooms in the house.
Absolute simple elegance.
Sprinkled with an abundance of charm.
and attention to detail.
And then there was this.
Seriously.
Right off the master bedroom.
The BEST.
And from the outside.
Amazing.
The master bathroom was gorgeous
I love the mix of antique elements
and that tub had me at Hello.
From the book room staircase
the hallway that felt like a garden
to the guest cottage & chicken coop and gardens
Patina Farm is absolutely a dream.
I had such a wonderful time seeing old friends and meeting friends I have known for years online
and just being immersed in the all the beauty of Patina Farm for an afternoon.

Courtney ~ I never get tired of this wonderful article and photos of Patina Farm. What a great day for you! Thank for sharing it and all you loved about it with us! Today, I was reminded that I don't need tons of different shrubs and flowers to make the garden beautiful — I've been struggling a bit with that since we leveled a couple of flowerbeds in order to put in a new fence — all I need are the few beautiful shrubs that I love at different times in the seasons and then boxwoods, boxwoods, boxwoods, lavender and roses and whatever else tucked here and there to make the most beautiful paths and outdoor rooms. Love it!

Every detail speaks my language. Thanks for taking us along, Courtney. I've followed Brooke for years. I'm extremely thankful that the fires didn't reach their beautiful Patina Farm last summer.
