Thought I should probably share the Fall that has appeared at our house this week
since it will probably be changing pretty quickly.
We are planning a little Halloween party this year
and my daughter is already dragging out the Halloween stuff
and we will be starting to put up some of the spooky decor next week.
and we will be starting to put up some of the spooky decor next week.
So for just a little bit before the creepies and crawlies, spiders, rats, owls
and all things ghoulish arrive…
My living room mantel is enjoying being
simple, quiet and understated covered in neutrals and soft colors
but I always tend to gravitate towards using natural decoration
like leaves, grasses & flowers
So while on a walk last week,
my daughter and I gathered some dried grasses
my daughter and I gathered some dried grasses
They were perfect.
I also added in a few peach edged white roses
in bloom as well.
in bloom as well.
A piece of a weathered broken crate box was perfect
for a few small bunches of dried flowers

It seems like bits and pieces from nature are some of my favorite
go to elements for decorating no matter what the season or room.
The dried roses have been amazing me this year~
they almost look like paper they are so perfectly dried.
Absolutely love them.
So simple, but perfect to enjoy for a few days
before we break out all the Halloween decor and a few orange pumpkins start appearing.
🙂

Dear Courtney, I do not know what to say (or write), I am speechless. Love the pastel beauty, all those roses combined with pieces from nature makes the WAW autumn mantel. Renata

The roses did dry amazingly gorgeous… they almost have a crepe paper quality, but even finer. So pretty!

Courtney, your mantel is so pretty, and I love the pinks and whites. 😀 I personally would hate to see orange show up in the mix…maybe you could use orange outside ;P
This is seriously one of the prettiest mantels I've seen for autumn.

Courtney, I am glad you got to share this gorgeous romantic fall mantel before switching it out.
Well, Courtney…you truly helped me today with my autumn decorating dilemma. 🙂 I've been stumped as to how to incorporate my weekly rose obsession with pumpkins. It just didn't seem right to me. But the vignettes you created are just so natural and romantic and beautiful. I had pin a couple photos so I could refer to them. So thank you, sweetie – for inspiring me!

Beautiful and swoon worthy!! Love the dried roses and white pumpkins together. All your natural touches are fantastic.
I love it! How do you dry your roses? Do you take them out of water before they start to die? They look amazing. I love it all…..

lovely and delicate
So pretty. I love visiting your blog, and although I love the rich colors that are seasonal, the muted soft shades that you use are so relaxing and feminine. And working with all men, I NEED that!
Gorgeous photos! Your mantle is stunning! I love how soft it is with the dried flowers and little white pumpkins.
