Who loves a little bit of merry & bright red and green Christmas cheer on the tree? If that sounds beautiful- then this post is for you!

Red & Green Christmas Cheer
First up- can we talk about this vintage stained door? I am in love with it! It is a recent junking treasure- I’ll be sharing more about this find soon. Back to all things fa-la-la-la-la filled- in spite of my love for all the pastel French Country look at Christmas, I do love to get a little bit more festive with bold and beautiful colors sometimes. And good news- two of my favorite more bold colors are red and green so this tree is a lovely one to me. Let’s break it down to the layers on the tree.

The Layers

A vintage inspired ornament set in red and green started the look off. I added all the larger ornaments first and then moved onto the smaller vintage ornaments. Up next were the paper mache ornaments which were various sizes and filled in any gaps.

Then it was time for some of the more whimsical ornaments. The church boy singing is not technically an ornament- but he sits on the branches perfectly. The red cardinal ornaments were a thrift find- I am not sure if they are vintage or reproduction but they are darling and I knew they would fit this tree perfectly.

I also found a baggie full of plastic candy canes and so, they were tucked in as well. Up next were the ribbons. Long burgundy velvet ribbons made the tree feel so festive and fun.
On the Cupboard
I added some ribbons to the cupboard in the background and also placed this darling little vintage girl holding a tiny candle on the ledge. A tip when decorating a tree is to consider the areas around the tree as well- and add some festive touches there too.

To finish the styling, I added a lovely bold red buffalo check ‘skirt’ underneath to echo the cheer. All in all, I think this tree turned out so sweet. I love how festive and merry it feels and how much traditional vintage magic it has too.

What do you think of how this Christmas tree turned out?
