Simple and sweet with a touch of nostalgia-this is such a lovely little idea for a gift for Mother’s Day, a birthday, just because- or any occasion. And it is so easy to create a custom arrangement that is perfect for the person you are giving it to.

This little arrangement is such a sweet treat.
Something Thrifted
I mean, you don’t really need an excuse to go thrifting – I pretty much think any day is a good day to stop in and see what might be talking to you. But if you do need an excuse (or permission) here you go! Head to your favorite thrift stops and look for some charming vessels for a dainty flower arrangement.
I am sharing 3 different ones with the variations of the same flowers to give you some ideas- but go with what type of treasure speaks to you while shopping of course.
A Sweet Vintage Silver Jewelry Box
This one is such a little treasure! I love that it is the perfect size for a small arrangement and that you can easily use it for holding jewelry, trinkets and treasures or little bits when you are done. For this look- you may need to tuck a little florist container inside for the water if there is lining or anything else that you don’t want to ruin. This particular box was stripped of anything so it is just metal and holds water just fine.

A Charming Cup
If mom loves coffee or tea, a lovely little mug or vintage teacup could be the perfect vessel.

A Vintage Goblet
These goblets are so beautiful on the table- and for holding flowers. If you are lucky enough to find a set, you could create several arrangements for placing on the table for a centerpiece too.

Dainty Blooms
A handful of delicate flowers are perfect for tucking into these vessels and creating an arrangement. You can use favorite flowers from the market or something blooming found in your garden or yard or a mingle of both. There is no right or wrong way to arrange flowers.
I showed the same flowers in each vessel above to give you an idea of how they look in different size and style containers. I love a mix of wildflowers and roses with a few unexpected bits mingled in.

In this dainty arrangement these are the flowers I clipped from our yard:
Lilac, Hellebore, Anemone, Cosmos, Garden Rose, Apple Blossom, Foxglove
Add a Ribbon & Note
Since the containers you settle on may not be the easiest to wrap up, you can simply tie a lovely little ribbon on it and tuck a wee card inside before gifting it.

This is such a simple and sweet way to create a charming, custom arrangement for gifting.
What do you think of how this turned out? Which is your favorite vessel? I love each of them but am kind of partial to the silver box. So sweet.

Stay tuned for another flower filled idea for gifting coming soon. You can see more in my newest book FRENCH COUNTRY COTTAGE IN BLOOM
Happy Wednesday friends.
