Can you believe that Mother’s Day is just around the corner?
And that might mean planning brunch at a favorite restaurant, giving mom breakfast in bed or maybe hosting a fun afternoon tea.
Moms and mom figures are such treasures… Moms have such impact on us and who we are and become and they don’t have to just be the person who gave birth to you. I have been so fortunate to have some of the most amazing, incredible and giving mom and mom figures in my life.
From my own mother, to my grandmother, to aunts, older sisters, teachers and close friends.
I had a teacher who was quite important when I was growing up- and was so thankful that my daughter had a very similar teacher influence her young school years as well. She is close to Coral even today and considers her to be part of the family.
While thinking about mother’s day coming up and planning for a few fun things, I am thankful for the wonderful mom influences in my life and today, am sharing a couple of ideas for table settings for a special Mother’s Day get together- that will also double as a gift idea.
First, can we talk about this camellia tree? It is the perfect backdrop for so many things- from beach bike photos to a charming table for two. And it was the perfect spot for setting an inspired Mother’s Day table with a lovely centerpiece.
This tree is such a stunner in person and it bloomed quite late this year with all the rainy weather we have had. So unlike most years when it blooms in February- it was blooming away in April.

I nominate my sister Susan because the day I came home from the hospital my mom gave me to her and she was just 3 1/2 years old.. She told her this is your baby and you take good care of her and she is yours.. That was 63 yrs ago and she still is taking care of me. I love her maybe even more than I did my Mother.

What beautiful faux arrangements (you'd never know as they look so realistic)! I'd like to nominate my daughter, Christina Rose…her name matches the beautiful arrangements. She gives her best at everything she does and works so hard maintaining family, business, teaching, and is so kind hearted, always thinking of others. So well deserved! ????????????

Such a beautiful set up Courtney and the azaleas looks so gorgeous and yes, I think they have loved all the rain we’ve gotten. And I nominate a mother, Sandy, that has since passed but she has made me grow spiritually with her teachings and love and has made me see life in a different better way.

Thank you for such gorgeous posts!!! You are my inspiration for how I want my house to look. No one but you does it so perfectly! I'd like to nominate my mom, Patricia Boyd. My mom raised 5 kids with the loving support of my dad. We had the best life could offer. Dad passed away 8 years ago and now it is my extreme honor to be able to return the favor to Mom. She lives with us now. We have a humble home that we added another master suite onto. Mom has brought all of her loveliest things to make that room her own. My children love to see her whenever they come over. She adds such a wonderful spirit. Mom adores flowers. In fact, we have a Home Goods right down the street from us – our weekly adventure, and always, she finds a flower arrangement to take to someone who is having a birthday or enduring a difficult time. I'd love to give her something lovely for just her. Next month she'll be 86 years old. We all home she has at least 20 more ahead. Thank you again for your beautiful blog and posts. I love it all!!!

I nominate my mom Mary who has a heart of gold. She is kind, loving, thoughtful and encouraging. My dad was in the military so we moved around a lot and she always made sure our house felt like a home no matter where we lived. Thanks so much for the chance to win, CoCo

Your lovely faux floral arrangements are indeed encouraging to me and I'm going to put some together for my new home! Thank you, Courtney, for always sharing such beautiful and useful ideas with us! Your posts are a treat!
My dear daughter-in-law, Tara is Mom to two precious boys ages 8 and 10. They are both doing very well in school, extremely active in a variety of sports and pleasantly polite and well behaved! Tara and my son, Michael, are married and they are both tremendous parents working constantly at school or with the children sports. Tara has become my cherished friend! She cares for me and supports me with great love and respect and I am so blessed to have her in my life! She makes those of us who love her better for just being with her! I would like to nominate Tara for your lovely gift because she shines brightly! Her kindness and her compassion are gifts to us for which I am most grateful!

These arrangements are so lovely, especially the Loire Valley one. I would like to nominate my Mom, because she is the glue that holds the family together. It isn't an easy job and applaud all her efforts.

My own mother is the inspiration in my life. She continues to support my ideas and give her all 63 years later. She is a blessing.

I have been blessed with a loving mother and other amazing women who have nurtured me along the way. I'd like to nominate one of these women, Della. She is an example of a strong and giving woman. She is a widow with two young children, one with special needs, and deserves like all mothers to be recognized and appreciated for who she is.

I nominate my sister. She is a stellar role model of an independent, strong and resilient woman for the family. She guides her daughter through mental health challenges, supports another daughter with parenting an autistic child and provides care and support for me, her deaf and disabled sister. She does it with an smile and sense of humor, despite physical challenges of her own. She has been married for 32 years to the love of her life and best friend. She is a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend we can all aspire to emulate. I would be honored if Balsam Hill would recognize and reward her with this gift.

My neighbor is 20 years older than me, so old enough to be a mother-figure, yet she's also a great friend. She's always concerned about me and will go out of her way to help me even if I never ask. I'm so blessed to have her in my life and I love to take a home cooked meal to her at least once a week.

I live in Cleveland, Ohio and my mother lives in Kentucky. She has always been young to me—she will be 80 this summer—but her spirit is much younger! She stopped driving a year ago and I, we, are so fortunate that she has a wonderful neighbor, Ellen Haire, who checks in on her. Ellen picks up groceries for her, takes packages to the post office for her and brings her fresh vegetables from her garden. She refuses any payment, she says she is happy to be able to help. I would love to nominate Ellen to revive these beautiful flowers.

I would like to nominate my beloved mother Joan Marie. She came to live with my family on Thanksgiving Day 2017. My dear father, who was her primary caregiver, had been diagnosed with end stage lung cancer a week earlier, and he, too, came to our home on Hospice Care. He passed away several days later. It was devastating for my mother, for not only did she lose her husband of 55 years, she had to leave behind her home of nearly 50 years. But my mom is a fighter with a great will to live as evidenced by her battle with breast cancer, recovering nearly completely from three different strokes in twelve years time and having open heart surgery among other medical issues. I am so proud of her. I admire her determination and her zest for life. I am honored to be able to care for the woman who raised me and who has blessed me in so many ways. I know how much this lovely arrangement would brighten her Mother's Day…a reminder of her treasured gardens of yesterday.

My daughter is a fabulous mama to my granddaughter. She did it all alone for 9 years and now has a new husband who supports her mother-daughter bond. They all make me so proud ♡

I would like to nominate my sister, Mary. She has always been like a mother to me. She has survived breast cancer, but developed complications post surgery. She has had two strokes since her breast cancer, but takes care of her husband, who struggles with dementia. She is part of her church ministry helping those who need spiritual help. She also watches over and helps her more elderly neighbors. Mary is the epitome of motherhood. Two days ago, she suffered a stroke. We are told she will recover, but it was so devastating to our family. I would love to see her receive one of the Balsam Hill arrangements. She absolutely loves flowers of all kinds. God Bless all Moms out there for all they do. Barb V.

I nominate my dear friend Mindy. She is a great and active mom to a lovely daughter and son. Her son developed cancer, she nursed him through that. Due to the chemo he had to take, his heart became damaged, she nursed him through a heart transplant. He lost his life shortly after in a car accident. Her daughter had two boys and Mindy devoted herself to both of them until they started school. I love my friend dearly because she is wonderful.

My sister, Susan is my nomination. She really deserves these beautiful flower arrangements because she is beautiful inside and out.

My mother has shown me a strength that is inspiring as she has fought cancer. As she has battled demons in her past. She has taught me how to fight my demons. Every day I get up and face the day, it is because of her example.

I nominate my sister Nancy, because both my wonderful mother and sweet mother-in-law have both passed away. My younger sister is always there to listen, to encourage, to help me and others. She loves her children greatly and helps them in multiple ways. Every time people find out that my sister is my sister they always rave on her and about how much they love and respect her. I know what they say is so true because she is so very generous and kind. Love you Nancy. Thank you for always being there for me.
