All about some of my Favorite Christmas Trees and what to shop for Now to get the look.
Happy November 1st and all things Merry & Bright season!!! I am So Excited for twinkling Christmas Trees, beautiful baubles and creating a warm and cozy home this holiday season. And I am excited for this years French Country Cottage 12 Trees of Christmas – which is coming your way very soon. We are kicking off the holiday season with a look at Christmas past- and why you should shop Right. Now. for holiday decor- even if you aren’t planning on decking the halls until after Thanksgiving. That shipping and stores stock crisis you have been hearing about? It is a Real thing folks. And gosh- so many things have been so delayed and are sitting on a boat right now and not available. So if you see something you love- grab it- it might not be in stock this season again.
This week we are jumping right in with favorites from last season, a look back at the 12 Trees of Christmas- and the first of this years 12 Trees – all coming your way!
Here are 3 Favorite Christmas trees from the past- and I am including details for what you can grab right now to get the look this year.
Favorite Christmas Trees- Vintage
An absolute favorite- and you know I am recreating a version of this again this year. Good news- Right now this beautiful European Fir tree is available- add some vintage baubles or vintage inspired baubles and bucket and you have a perfect Merry & Bright Vintage tree.

Tip: Use a Unique tree stand for a unique look. This is a vintage bucket that I filled with rocks and then set the tree into. It brings a very vintage look and feeling -and would be so easy to customize with other containers and colors.
Favorite Frosty Blue Tree
Another favorite look last year- I love frosted trees so much and this Fraser Fir is an absolute favorite. The Fraser Fir has delicate, dainty foliage and a dusting of ‘snow’ – and when it is lit up- it absolutely fills the room with warmth and a golden glow.

Tip: Under the tree is a perfect spot for another layer of Christmas decor. Boxes of baubles, pretty ribbons and pretty packages stacked up creates a beautiful display.
Favorite Vintage Blush & Fuchsia Christmas Tree
Another frosted free and another favorite look. This one is all about the rosy tones in vintage and new ornaments in shades of pink.
The key to this tree is a mix of vintage and new- I have collected vintage ornaments for years. Whenever I bump into them in a thrift store or at a tag sale, all year long- I am bringing those home with me. And the soft dusty blush pinks and creamy pearl colors are perfect new ornaments for mixing in.

Tip: Mix vintage and new ornaments for a unique look. For a simple color palette like this one- use different shades of the same color to create interest.
Another Layer with Mantel Decor
And of course, as you can see if the photo above- the fireplace mantel sits just beyond the tree and is another opportunity to bring in more beautiful charm. Brass candlesticks and blush candles are on repeat over here all season long & I used them for these posts last year as well.
Tip: Tuck vintage inspired candlesticks in among a few springs of fresh greens or a full lush garland for a charming look. I also like to use softer shades of candles for most looks- so they ‘float’ and blend in more than stand out.

Mercury Glass
Pretty mercury glass baubles just add even more oomph. I love that they reflect beauty and shimmer but also that they are so easy to incorporate with other colors. This gold tree is a favorite from several years ago- and it is decorated with mercury glass.

Tip: Layer different colors of mercury glass for a different look. This tree has blush, silver and white mercury glass in various sizes and shapes.
Add a Pretty Ribbon
Pretty Ribbons are perfect for trees- and for packages. Something that I always like to do is to echo the color of the ornaments under the tree. Some of my favorite simple ribbons for packages have been just satin or velvet that I have bumped into. But I recently ordered several pretty ones that I am planning to use this year.

Hi Courtney,
Your trees are stunning and so inspiring to me. I am going to order the balsam hill European Fir tree and would like to know which light source you selected; the fairy light or the candlelight led? by the way, i’m also ordering the frasier fir flocked tree!!! Thank you for being a “style guru” to all of us who follow along with you!
Courtney says
Hi Carol! Oh that is wonderful! You will love them both- they are two of my absolute favorite trees- both so beautiful!
The European fir I have is the Fairy Lights. 🙂
Julie says
What is the difference in the fiarly lifhts vs. the candlelight?
Courtney says
Hi Julie! Great question! The LED fairy lights are tiny little lights that kind of cover the tree – kind of like a ‘sprinkle of magic’ and the candlelight LED lights are more like a traditional light on a Christmas tree (size of light and glow). Here is how Balsam Hill describes them if that helps!
Fairy Lights: Create holiday magic with tiny sparkles of light and nearly invisible fine wires.
Candlelight: Enjoy the same warm glow as traditional lights with bulbs that won’t burn out.
Hope that helps!

Thank you, courtney, for your very prompt reply and for the infor on the tree. looking forward to your next post!
Julie says
What size is the european fir you have?
Courtney says
Hi Julie! This is a 6.5 European Fir.

Beautiful trees i live the lighting too
Courtney says
I am obsessed with that beautiful magic!
Kim says
You are always so helpful, Courtney. What type of lighting is on your Frosted Fraser Fir? You’re always inspiring!

Beautiful as always! I’m curious about how you have hung the STOCKINGs on your mantle. I’ve looked at many hangers on the market and haven’t anything that will work for me. I like that whatever you used is hidden amongst the greenery. thanks for your time.
best regards,
mari
