Fa-la-la-la-laa… la-la-la-laaaaaa.
I have been sprinkling a bit of Christmas magic all around the house. And today it is the 6th Tree of Christmas- and it is all about a delightful vintage inspired tree by the barn.
I am also joining my friend Jen for the Holiday Housewalk today-
if you are coming over from My Sweet Savannah– welcome!
Let’s take a peek at the barn feeling all Merry & Bright!
Merry & Bright Vintage Tree
I am IN LOVE with this tree. It is full of all kinds of things that make me feel a bit giddy for Christmas. Vintage ornaments, a vintage bucket stand and the most delicious slightly wonky and wild European Christmas tree.
This tree is the European Fir from Balsam Hill- and it is one of my favorites because it has that traditional imperfectly perfect shape just like a real Christmas tree. It reminds of Christmas past and going out into the woods and cutting down a charming tree to decorate.
I used several sets of ornaments to decorate it- and that was it. No garland. No ribbons. Just ornaments. I wanted something super simple that reminded me of a wee Charlie Brown type tree.
One of my favorite looks for a tree is to use simple round ornaments of different sizes to create interest on the tree- without overwhelming it.
I used Balsam Hill Essential Ornaments, Essential Mini Mercury Glass Ornaments, Winter Frost Round Ornaments and vintage collected to create this look.
I love the somewhat wonky shape and style of this tree- it is absolutely such a charmer.
Use a Bucket or Basket for a Unique Look
I wanted something in a charming shade of blue for the base- this is a vintage bucket that I brought back from Las Vegas Market several years ago. Simply using something unusual and different for the base creates a completely different feeling and look.
A tip here is to fill the bucket with rocks or gravel to be able to brace the tree- and make sure it is not top heavy. You don’t want any spills!
Evening Glow
And at night… it absolutely glows.
With that warm chandelier twinkling away inside the doors- this tree is an added amount of cozy Christmas charm.
But you might have guessed by my post last week of the frosted tree here that this tree didn’t stay here too long. You see, I have two trees in the barn. This one is picture perfect for the other door.
These cuties were curious as to just what was going on inside that door in the barn. I tried to grab a photo while working on this post- but had to go grab them when they started to pull the ribbons off the packages, eat the fresh garland and basically have a bit of fun bumping those ornaments on the tree.
Outdoor Vintage Lights
You might remember that I shared these outdoor vintage style lights on the barn last week- I am so not a colorful lights kind of a person- until now.
I am in love with how festive and cozy the barn looks with those twinkling lights and – we have been leaving them on all night long for the goats and chickens to enjoy. They *might* have a strand inside their barn too. 🙂 Stay tuned.
Coming your way
A peek Inside the barn… there is a bit more Christmas magic going on inside and here are a few tips for styling the table and how to set a magical stage.
