Wandering and soaking up all the beauty and magic in the garden is one of my favorite things to do at this time of the year.

The potting shed garden blooms are plentiful with some of the later blooming peonies mingling with garden roses, foxgloves and Larkspur and more. I bring my clippers and deadhead what needs cleaning up, trim back some of the wild branches and absolutely unruly blackberries that like to grow in everywhere and take over. And then I clip some flowers to bring inside to enjoy- below the basket was full from a good peony & roses clipping day. (yes there are roses in there- sharing which variety looks just like a peony below)

Many might argue that tending garden is work, but it is joyful work in my opinion. Planting, watering and taking care of plants is a chore, but the reward is grand. The blooms, the scent, the beauty and the magic that fills the garden, fills me up. The blooms bring wild songbirds that wake me up with their tune in the mornings and say goodnight just as beautifully in the evenings.
The flowers bring beauty to behold, though I admit, I struggle with clipping them to bring indoors because I love them in the garden so much. I usually clip and bring in more of them when the weather may damage them though I leave an an abundance of them to enjoy just as they are too.
Some of my favorite roses in this garden area are blooming in abundance at the moment- if you love old fashioned garden roses full of ruffles, you might love these too.

Earth Angel– these are delicious cup shaped old fashioned blooms full of dainty pink ruffles. They have several flowers on each stem and so, you can often clip a couple stems and have a bouquet. They do like to grow leggy into the path but I let them until the blooms are ready and then clip them back when bringing flowers inside.

All Dressed Up– bursts of bright pink with lots of ruffles and a lovely scent- I love that these are long bloomers in the garden and they fade to a soft salmony pink as well.

Eden Roses– Well known and well loved cottage garden roses- they are prolific bloomers and climbers and bring beautiful flowers all summer long. We have several varieties in our garden.

Ingenious Mr. Fairchild – these are beauties and basically look like dainty peonies- side by side, they can be hard to tell the difference. So delightful.

Princess Charlene de Monaco– one of my favorites to bring indoors, they are delightful to look at and the scent is intoxicating.

Colette – A lovely peachy pink dainty climbing bloomer.
Iceberg: Such a pretty one and in the shade and cooler weather, ours are more blush than white.

What are your favorite roses that are blooming right now?
Beautiful roses thank you for sharing with us,
Flavorette Honey Apricot Rose from Proven Winners is blooming right now and it is gorgeous! I haven’t tried tasting the rose petals yet because they’re edible and supposed to be quite tasty. But I love this rose for it’s beautifully Apricot roses and wonderful fragrance. It also can be used as a shorter climber or shrub rose. This year I added to my rose collection with 2 of The Impressionist on my garden arbor along with Bathsheba and Eden on trellis’. I also added Rise Up Amberness which is a beautiful golden yellow rose from Proven Winners because it is a short climber that works well on a trellis in the middle of my vegetable beds. I’m excited about all the new additions and have my eye on even more. I relate with your love of roses and peonies. Every year I add more varieties of both. You have been one of my inspirations courtney. I even had a wealth of foxglove this year in the cutting garden. Cottage bliss!
