Oh those beautiful French empire chandeliers. They are a favorite style for any room in the house. And today, we are talking about getting the look for the less with empire style chandeliers for under $500.
Empire Chandeliers
One of the chandeliers that I am asked about often is the gorgeous one in our living room. Covered in crystal strands, elegant cast metal frame and the little details like the crystal adorned top and basket bottom create a stunning focal point.
Admittedly, this chandelier is a tad on the small size in the living room. The living room is a big room and could probably benefit from either a larger chandelier or another chandelier to balance the light a bit. I do have another one that I am planning on trying here that is larger. But for now- I love this beauty right where it is.
Side note- want to see something fun with this room? Take a peek at what our living room looked like BEFORE in this post here. You might be surprised.
You can see more of this setting and spring table centerpieces Here
This chandelier has also appeared in the greenhouse
and also in the bathroom in the back of the house. I guess you could say that it is a favorite.
What I love about Empire Style Chandeliers
While some chandeliers are shaped more wide than tall- empire style chandeliers are longer and have a smaller top and wider bottom. They come in all sizes and styles- from traditional strands of crystals to the more recent strands of beads that have been popular for farmhouse style. I am a a bit of a traditionalist and prefer the crystal- also because I love all that beautiful ‘bling’ that they bring as well.
As you can imagine- all those crystal details can add up in the cost & they can run thousands of dollars for a single chandelier. But if you want the look without putting a huge dent in your wallet- this post is for you. I have done a bit of wandering this morning and am sharing 12 Get the Look options that are under or around $500. I even found a different version of the chandelier that is in our living room- for $329. Just click on the photos below to shop the look. Happy Friday all.

The one in the living room is a new chandelier- it was from Lamps Plus but last time I checked they do not carry it any longer. The two above the dining room table are new- by Schonbek.

Do you know the name of the empire CHANDELIER and maker? Even though lamps plus doesn’t sell it maybe I can find it online somewhere. Thanks!

How do you clean them? and, how often?

If this was the style I decorated in, I would choose the middle one in the Last row. It is the loveliest to me. I love your mirrors you decorate with too.

Yes! I was wondering the same thing as Susan. How often do they require cleaning and how difficult are they to clean. i love the look, but i’m a bit of a neat freak and dust on lighting is one of my least favorite things1
