I can’t believe that it is already Christmas Eve.
I start decking the halls early in October and the season always feels like it flies by and Christmas is here before I know it. We have been intentional in taking time to savor bits of the season the past couple of weeks.

We went to a couple of Christmas street celebrations, drove around and looked at Christmas lights in beautiful neighborhoods and slowed down a bit to savor quiet moments by the twinkling trees. Being present in the moment and soaking up the season has been the gift of the season. I didn’t spin around as much like the Tasmanian devil which is how I usually do things and really just intentionally decided to be more quiet. That slow living my daughter is always talking about- there is absolutely something to that and we will be delving much more into that in the new year. Today, we are baking and cooking and then wrapping presents by the fire tonight before celebrating Christmas with family.

I know that the holidays can bring struggles and sadness as well as beauty and wonder. I wanted to send a virtual hug your way -I am grateful for you. Thank you for being part of the French Country Cottage family. Wishing each of you and yours a beautiful Christmas that is full of the magic and wonder of the season.

Merry Christmas all.

I’m glad to hear that you are discovering the beauty in it. Just love your blog.
