The halls are decked (mostly), the gifts are thinking about being wrapped and baking is on the agenda in just a few days. If you are like me- you are probably running around a bit this week to wrap up that shopping.Today is all about a spindly colorful vintage Christmas tree and last minute gift ideas.

A Very Merry Vintage Tree
This spindly Charlie Brown tree is a favorite and since I share several trees on the blog every year- sometimes I decorate the trees a little differently to share again. This tree is the same one as the blue one I shared a couple days ago- but it is wearing all kids of vintage color today.

Underneath the tree
It isn’t just presents that go underneath the tree- that is a whole other layer of decor you can add. I placed a vintage quilt as a skirt to bring in more of those vintage colors. Simply wrap it around the base of the tree and call it good.

Garlands and ornaments galore
On the branches, lots of colorful vintage ornaments create a charming look. I also used beaded garland and a little drizzle of tinsel. Simple and sweet is the motto over here for Christmas this year- and this tree is definitely simple and sweet.

Last minute gift ideas
From making handmade gifts, baking a sweet treat for your neighbors or finding the perfect random gift for the person who has everything. This year, we are doing things a bit differently with gifting. Keeping it simple and mainly just for the grand babies.
Handmade Gift Ideas
- Cocoa Gifts– Just grab some mason jars and fill them with cocoa mix and other bits- chocolate chips, crushed peppermint, caramels etc.
- Make a movie night gift basket- A jar of popcorn, seasoning salt with cozy socks or wearable blanket is perfect and simple.
- Coffee Gifts- We love to put together a coffee gift. A pair of mugs, bag of coffee are all you need- but you can add in things like a frother for making lattes or biscotti for a sweet treat.
- Self Care Bath Gifts- I am a big bathtub kind of girl so this one always speaks to me. Bath salts or oils, a candle and face mask or lotion are perfect.
- Foodie Gifts – A pasta gift set with bag of pasta, jar of sauce and olive oil is a perfect gift for foodies. You can also create cookie mix gifts in jars, chocolate lovers gifts with several bars of delicious chocolates, etc. There are a ton of possibilities here.

Merry christmas
I wanted to thank you for your delightful blog, it has been inspiration and warmth in a very difficult year.
So. after cleaning out our parents home, i have gleaned many ideas, including getting to decide where to hang many antique pictures, and large victorian and edwardian gold portrait frames.
your sense of style is impeccable.

Your vintage tree brings back fond memories, I grew up with trees like this. (Tells you how old I am. Haha)
Fortunately, I only have a couple more gifts to wrap and then I’ll be ready.
Have with the baking and making a Merry Christmas.
xo,
Karen B.
I love your vintage quilt as a tree skirt idea. With a new grandbaby in the mix this year and starting the tradition of a “Children’s Tree” for our second tree, that is the perfect addition for next year. This year the small tree is in a Vintage picnic basket.
Happy Holidays!
Lovely indeed
Stunning. Where did you get the lovely vintage tinsel?? I remember spending hours on the tree with my Mother just hanging the tinsel on each branch. Memories.
