The day that so many of you have been asking for is here… a way to read French Country Cottage without Any ads running in the content.

Ads
So many times I have gotten feedback from you over the years about ads that we have been running here bothering your reading. I completely understand- I really do. And if you knew how many times I messaged my ad management company to share the complaints about too many – you probably wouldn’t believe it. I would insist to reduce them and they would remove to far below the usual amount on a blog. But even then no matter how many we removed- there were complaints about the ads being intrusive.

A Balancing Act
I kept insisting on removing more ads because my blog is supposed to be a beautiful experience for readers here with words and photos that create a lovely spot to land for a few minutes. Like wandering into a beautiful garden and sitting with a cup of tea- I want my blog to feel like a moment that leaves you refreshed and nourished visually.
To be able to create something beautiful to share with you inspires me creatively- and I love connecting with you all here so much. When I look back at where I started in 2010- gosh, I am honestly so amazed and thankful for this blog journey and all it has brought with it! And I am So grateful for each of you and your support of French Country Cottage in so many ways.
Social Media Changes
Things are always changing of course and navigating those changes is part of growing and finding the right path. I reduced much of the sponsored work I was doing previously that didn’t feel aligned with my goals any longer and added other work and projects that fuel me and are where my passion lives. (Hello working on creating beautiful books!) And my blog has always been a big passion project for me- it is one of my creative babies that I absolutely love.
When people commented that their experience reading my blog was negative because of the ads taking away from the content and my photos- I took each of those comments to heart. I really want to offer that beautiful space and experience for you but it also has to work all around too.
So, I needed to find a way that you can enjoy reading my blog without the annoyances of ads running- but that also makes financial sense to be able to continue putting in the time, energy and expenses that come along with creating blog content. With all the changes to social media (looking at you AI) we have been working behind the scenes for a minute to some find some new creative paths that feel more aligned to me personally and my creative goals (stay tuned!) and also ways to be able to share beauty with you here.
I am excited to share more about some of those things soon but today, we are sharing the first one- a paid version of my blog that has NO ADS running.

Hi Courtney, I love your aesthetic and have been enjoying your blog nearly daily for several years now. i am tempted to go adless although i haven’t looked at the pricing yet. My concern though, is that it seems, particularly recently, you are reposting blogs from years ago, sometimes ones that were posted more than once previously. I completely understand your inclination to do that, considering how busy you are, but was wondering if you could tell us maybe if you will be doing more new content. I love your work so much I have literally read every single blog you have posted. 🙂
Hi Karen! Oh goodness- thank you so much for being a long time and dedicated reader- I appreciate you being here! ❤️
I do usually post an older post each week in a ‘favorites’ or ‘tossback’ post- with 16 years of content on here there are a lot of posts that were quite popular when they went up that don’t get seen unless they are shared again. I also update posts when sharing so they have relevant new links and information or additions, etc.
The ones that have been posted a couple times previously are definitely in the ‘Favorites’ category- we get new followers joining often and they have not seen that info and find them interesting but I can absolutely understand that to long time readers like yourself, they could feel stale.
I try to put up 2 new posts per week at the same time and plan to continue to do that. Admittedly, that has been a bit harder with some other things going on recently but we are working on and planning a lot of fresh content that will be coming your way this year.❤️
I am amazed that so many people have this big an issue with ads. Just ignore them. I never even noticed them. When I read your blog, I am concentrated on what is in there , not on the ads. thank ou so much for all that you do and the effort you put into it. You have one of the very best blogs anywhere.
Thanks so much Suzanne- I appreciate your kind words! It is so nice to hear that you enjoy the blog- thank you for reading!❤️
hi courtney, I have read your blogs for a couple years. I love every one of them even if they’re repeats. the repeats remind me of what I may have forgotten. I tend to try to ignore the ads, also. one in particular is hard to get rid of though. I am considering supporting you by paying for no ads. so far, I can’t get information for how much that cost. I look forward to your new book! I have your first four. I love love love them and often refer to them for inspiration. thank you so much for all you do and all that you inspire.
