A charming village glowing away in a fireplace is such a sweet look for the holidays and all year long. For Friday favorites today, we are chatting about this little Christmas Fireplace Village I created using those lit houses. It was a few years ago now- and it is a favorite look for a faux firebox -though they also look charming in a cupboard, on the mantel or on a sideboard.

It was involved to create, I will be honest. To create the layered look with different heights of houses like they were on a hillside required some tinkering. I actually did a tutorial on the shelves, stacking the houses and how exactly I was able to plug each one into the other to create the whole village that looked like Positano, Italy.

For those of you who aren’t familiar- I have a collection of faux foliage that I have designed with Balsam Hill. There are florals, garlands and wreaths and some holiday foliage as well that I will be sharing more of here soon. And now there is something else in the collection too!
Balsam Hill recreated the fireplace village I designed to add to my collection this year!!!
And they made the house pieces at different heights, made the plugs for the lights all line up easily for connecting and it is so simple- all you have to do is plug it together, plug it in and voila. No more stacking up blocks or anything else to get the layered look.
I used 2 sets here since this is a pretty large firebox area-but one would be perfect as well.
I AM OBSESSED with how beautiful it turned out!! They even added little wreaths and garlands to the houses for even more Christmas magic!
I have been known to keep the village in place for months in the faux fireplace in my bedroom. That warm glow absolutely fills the room and adds a whole lot of charm year round. You can find the original post HERE
