A thrift store haul of vintage ornaments = a beautiful vintage inspired Christmas tree. And today, sharing a closer look at all those mottled mercury glass and gilded details.

Vintage Inspired Christmas Tree
I mean, I am in love with this vintage inspired view… there is something so serene and nostalgic about this tree. Layers of mercury glass baubles with the perfect mottled finish. Gilded vintage angel ornaments tucked in the branches. A sprinkle of tinsel and a few satin teal and green ribbons. I am a wee bit obsessed with how pretty this tree turned out. And even better? It is a simple vintage inspired Christmas tree- but feels like it has a whole lot of magic. ✨ First up though… those 10 boxes of vintage ornaments- can you believe they were just $1 for each box? A major score.

Vintage Inspired Christmas Tree Details
Let’s take a closer look at this tree and all those dainty details.
Tip: Use a variety of ornaments to create a nostalgic charm. Keep them all in a similar palette for a cohesive look or mix it up for an eclectic look.
I scored about 10 boxes full of old vintage mercury glass baubles at the thrift store and they inspired this vintage Christmas tree look. Since I wanted a more simple cohesive look, I left off some of the colors (you will see them soon) and kept this tree decorated with just some of the vintage baubles.

Vintage Angel Ornaments
I also found a bag full of vintage angel ornaments during Christmas in July at the thrifts this year. There were probably about 15 of them in the bag – and so, some of those charmers found a place on this tree.
Tip: Bring in some vintage ornaments other than mercury glass for a unique look. Angels, wooden toys, dainty bows- anything goes.

Vintage inspired Christmas Tree Starburst topper
This topper is such a glittery fun pop of pretty – and though it is brand new, it definitely brings a vintage old school flair to the tree.
Tip: Don’t be afraid to mix in some new vintage inspired elements for a fun twist.

Satin Ribbons & Velvet
The ribbons on the tree are a mingle of teal satin and sage green satin. I left them long and untied to create a lovely ‘drape’ without the fuss of bows.
Underneath the tree, a ruffled velvet tablecloth is a lovely touch that brings a warm cozy feeling.

One of our regular thrift stops- they said because they were so mottled-they were just $1 per box. But I love the mottled patina so it was all good.
