Summer Florals in the attic

When it comes to summer refreshes -over here they often involve lightening and brightening and decluttering- and sometimes you want a simple update that adds a burst of warm sunshine to a room.
Like a new set of curtains, a throw rug, toss pillows or even fresh bedding for a whole new look.

In the attic, I did just that. I recently mixed up the bedding just a bit to freshen and brighten the room for summer.

Usually just simple white bedding is what I go with 
which better allows the painted beds to do most of the talking.
But a little package arrived and Rachel sent over some of her new pieces from her 
 Shabby Chic  collection at Target-
and I fell in love with this one and instantly thought about using it to create a 
romantic little retreat in the attic.
This bedding is so pretty in person.
Very vintage in look – the softest of barely blushing blush dotted with old fashioned bouquets of roses on one side and a tiny little vintage ditzy floral type print on the reverse.
I love the vintage style ditzy print so went with that first- but honestly, 
either one looks perfect and I love that when you fold the comforter back- it shows both sides layered together. So cozy. 
With the new bedding- I also changed a few other things. A new to me vintage rug underfoot
and an old wooden bench for a nightstand. 
And those old vintage skirts, dressed and fabrics were perfect for hanging by the window to add even more 
charm and a diffused light to this little room.

And then just a few fresh flowers and an abundance of pillows piled up and called it good.

Even Brawner (my daughters boyfriends pup) agrees it is pretty much perfection. I went upstairs to grab something and found this cutie all cozy on the bed.
Nothing like a big old English bull dog on a blush floral comforter.

I am also making a couple other changes in this room – you might notice a new vintage rug underfoot and a change in the nightstand area to using an old bench in place of a small vintage chest of drawers.

    The green is brilliant. Pinks and blues are not the only romantic colors for bedrooms. The green is organic and unique. I find myself so bored with designs today. The floral motif is gorgeous with the green. The beds are magnificent.

    I love your attic. It’s very romantic & dreamy. You styled it BEAUTIFULLY. Im looking for the duvet/comForter. You mentioned that it was from Rachels line at target. Only i cant seem to find it. What is it called? Ty

      Hi! Thank you! I believe that Rachel Ashwell discontinued her line at Target- I think she has one at Walmart now so I would take a look on their website and try to find it there.

        BeautiFul attic! I cant seem to find the duvet from Rachels line on any site. Do you know the name Or where it Can be purchased from? Happy easter!

          Hi, I don’t know the name of it. It was sold in Target stores- but Target no longer carries Shabby Chic. I would check the Walmart website- I think she moved all her line over to them.
