A few weeks ago we were off on a day date adventure to a spring garden tour. We had been told about the flowers in this garden for awhile and decided this was the year to make the trek and go wander for a bit to soak it in. I am not sure if the garden tours change with the seasons- but it was open to the public for a tulip and meditation garden tour. And it did not disappoint.
Scroll down for a photo tour and a video tour I put together to share.
Tulip Garden Tour
I spent a bit of time snapping photos and taking video of all of the pops of pretty while we wandered- and surprisingly the garden tour was quite busy. Because of the recent times- you had to make a reservation to visit to make sure that there were not too many people at any given time slot- so we planned to be there mid morning/lunch time.
The layers of lovely with the tulips was incredible. Each path led to a new view- from hillside plants to pools filled with koi fish to meditation areas.
This place is called Ananda Village- if you are in Northern California you may have heard of it. It is a very beautiful and peaceful retreat to escape to for a bit and is very spiritual.
As is most of the Nevada City area. They also offer meditation classes and retreats and garden tours- among other things. Being someone who has always struggled to quiet my mind when trying to meditate- the idea of joining them for a meditation retreat sounds lovely.
The amount of tulips that they have is incredible. And while so many were in full bloom- there were more coming. I loved that there were several unique varieties tucked in as well.
And the layers of different colors, shapes and sizes were incredible.
Peony
They also had a few Itoh Peonies blooming while we were there. This was the first time I had seen this particular color Itoh peony in person- they are gorgeous. And huge!
Meditation Areas
The reflection pools, fountains and statues were absolutely gorgeous as well.
I definitely feel like my garden needs a big statue fountain like one- it was so lovely and peaceful to be next to. We wandered the meandering hillside paths and explored all of the garden areas that were open before heading out to enjoy a bit more of the area dressed in layers of lush spring green.
I hope you enjoyed this little meandering tour full of tulip inspired beauty.
Happy Friday all.

Knowing courtney’s blog, I’d say she’s checking the Craigslist postings, haha. I see a beautiful cherub one in the bay area right now, and many other posibilities. Such a lovely garden tour, thank you for sharing!
