‘ I’ll have a blue Christmas…’
There is just something about frosty, snowy branches with beautiful layers of blue baubles. It feels welcoming and elegant- and makes me think of winter wonderland evening walks in the crisp mountain air.
And today for the ‘second day of Christmas’ in our 12 Trees of Christmas series- it is all about those holiday blues. But in a pretty way. 🙂
Yesterday I shared a frosted tree layered with pretty pinks. This tree is actually the same Balsam Hill Frosted Fraser Fir tree- just wearing a completely different look for Christmas.
Christmas Blues Frosted Tree
Snow covered twigs & Berries
Snow dusted twig branches and white berries are perfect for tucking into the tree branches to add another beautiful element. I love that they stick out just a bit further than the branches and add a touch of a whimsy.
Favorite shades of blue
This tree is layered in shades of frosty blues, navy, faded denim, steel & aqua blues. A style tip with using blues on a tree is to use those various shades of blue in layers- I love the depth and beauty that various shades of the same color bring to a tree.
Start with rich dark shades tucked further into branches and in smaller sizes on the outer branches. Frosty, denim and aqua blues are lighter in color and feeling so they can be placed most anywhere and look lovely.
I also used frosty white & metallic silver and glitter ornaments to layer that wintry look and give it a ‘winter wonderland’ feeling. Another layer of glittery beauty? The pretty cut-out ribbon tucked into the branches.
String a Glittery bead Snowflake Garland
That gorgeous beaded snowflake garland adds a touch of glam. And for a sweet simple and natural element- bring in an unfinished beaded garland as well.
A Gold Star
A glittery gold star topper adds beautiful touch to finish this tree. I love that the star is a classic element for a topper- but also that is that beautiful gold metallic color that ties the rest of the glittery elements on the tree together.
You can see more tips and details about this look on the Balsam Hill blog– and you can shop this look below.
