Merry & bright with a burst of citrus sunshine and dainty blue velvet and crochet ribbons- today is the 6th tree in this years 12 Trees of Christmas- all about shades of summer with warm blue & gold decorations on the Christmas tree.
Burst of Sunshine Christmas Tree
You know what I love about the 12 Trees of Christmas series? Well, other than it is all about Christmas and twinkling trees. I love that with each tree I put up- there is another opportunity to try something different. A different color palette. A different style. Or maybe a mix and mingle of things that are speaking to me at the moment. This particular tree was inspired by warm sunshine and the light coming through the windows- those golden rays of November sun dancing across the floor and the bright clear blue of the sky. I found myself layering the neutral ornaments on the tree- and then adding in those November skies & sunshine details. And you might notice something that is a bit of a secret too. I will share more at the end of the blog post.
Dotted with those vintage blues and bold golden yellows- this tree feels like a happy, sunshine filled tree to me. I love the way the colors mingle- and it was honestly a little unexpected as it came together. I wasn’t planning those colors on this tree- I just found myself being drawn to those warm colors.
Shades of Summer- Golds & Vintage Blues
I used several shades of golds and blues to add that little pop on the tree. Vintage bold blues that had faded were the first shades- and a couple that were a bit bolder were added in accent in places like the bowl to tie it together.
The vintage golds are some of my favorites- though I will say I prefer the vintage golds that are more soft in saturation to the bold and beautiful vintage golds. So I mostly chose those softer shades for the tree. I also used the Essential gold ornaments -which I love because they bring in so many different shades and sheens in just one collection.
Pearly Whites & shades of vintage silver and golds also added a warm touch while keeping the mix of bolder colors to a minimum.
Vintage Blue Velvet & Crochet Ribbon
Have you noticed a big recurring theme of using ribbons this year? There is something nostalgic that I love about them- and while I love those elegant ribbons that tuck in and out and make big beautiful statements on the trees too- I do love how sweet these smaller, dainty ribbons feel.
Stars, Angels and Citrus
I also incorporated a few of the star ornaments, vintage silver angels and slices of dried citrus to give this tree a bit of an ‘Italian’ feeling. With the blue- those citrusy lemon colors really makes me think of beautiful places in Italy with those big fresh lemons and rich colors all around.
Star Christmas Tree Topper
A beautiful elegant crowning touch- this Capiz star tree topper was perfect for echoing the look of the rest of the tree.

The Quick Change Secret
Did you figure out what the secret was to this tree? Did you guess that it is the same tree and in the same spot in the house as the Vintage Ornaments tree I just shared? And that is has some of the same ornaments on the tree as it did with the vintage tree- that I just removed some things and added others?
Yep. That is the secret. A quick change and a completely different look.
What do you think of this Christmas tree? Any ideas what the next one will look like? I have so many different ideas this year – there may even be a couple bonus looks if I get them all done. The next tree in our series is coming your way after Thanksgiving.
Happy Tuesday all!

Hi Courtney! Warm and refreshing sweetness, yes please! 😇 You are truly gifted and always can’t wait to see your next blogs. I did notice a commoradity and was trying to figure out in the vintage one how you had rearranged your living room. Haha! Clever photography!

Haha! I am glad you picked up on it! 🙂 The room felt all out of sorts with the sofa moved there- it was just a quick change for sure.
Happy Thanksgiving!

hi courtney, I love BH also, but here in europe their website is not functioning. I tried many times to order the fraser tree; all types of payment (3 credit cards from 2 countries and paypal) rejected. Our credit card companies both confirmed it is a problem with the website, not our cards. BH Customer service could not solve the problem and didn’t seem to care. As an ambassador, do you have any pipeline to the upstairs folks, as I’m sure they don’t know…
Courtney says
Oh no! I am sorry to hear that Beatrice! I will let my contact know and see if they can help. Thank you for letting me know!
