Welcome to the weekend view. I have been offline much of the week. We have had family in town visiting and have also been grand dog watching for my son and his family. But we did get a couple things done around the house and garden.
Weekend View
Peonies
I clipped a few peonies from the garden yesterday – these are from a couple of plants. We have a bunch more ready to bloom as well as several roses finally ready to pop. The plants in the garden have been struggling with the weird weather we have had this year. We had a super late and hard freeze in April and then again at the beginning of May that caused a lot of damage to blooms and buds and caused a lot of damage event to tree leaves which we have never had happen since living here.
Grand Dogs
Millie and Brady were here visiting while their parents were took Juliette (and Katt) to Disneyland for a couple of days. This is Millie sitting on my lap while we were outside. Yes, I am wearing my big heavy snuggly outside yet (I need a lightweight snuggly for summer!) and Millie loved how comfy it was to lay on too.
Juliette & her smash cake
Juliette had her own special ‘smash’ cake for her birthday – but the funniest thing was that she wanted nothing to do with it. I was waiting to capture some photos of her enjoying it- but she didn’t even want a taste and so- this is the snap that best sums up the ‘smash cake’ moment. 😂
Memorial Day
With Memorial Day weekend- it is a time of reflecting and honoring those who have served and fought and have sacrificed so much. Something you may not know is that my husband served in the Gulf War when he was quite young and he had experiences that have stayed with him. I shared a bit more about when I first met him & his time serving in the Gulf War in a post about the a Red, White & Blue story. You can read more here: A Red, White & Blue Story
Have a safe Memorial Day weekend all.

Thank your husband for his service to our country! I don’t believe in COINCIDENCEs…your husband was meant to meet you and the rest is history! God bless you both!

We appreciate his service. Juliette is adorable and the baby goats( I think) are too cute. Have a safe and fun Memorial Day.
