Another hot one over here, so the weekend view is full of trying to stay cool and getting indoor projects done.
Weekend Blooms
I am playing with a few grocery store flowers this week. It is too hot to have any of my usual go-to flower market vendors ship specialties and there wasn’t a good day to run to the SF Flower Mart to pick up. So local grocery store flowers it is. We actually found quite a few good ones- from stock to garden roses and so, you will see some of those popping up here this next week.
Working in the Garden
In between the heat- we have been squeezing in a little bit of garden work. We are working on creating a new area near the rose garden for sitting and enjoying. Of course that also means shopping vintage for some lovely vintage furniture and elements to put there- I will keep you posted on what I find.Side note- Thursday thrifting had us finding some themes on repeat. From vintage poker chips, tables & vintage lamps- which all seemed to be in every spot we shopped. Would you like to see more of our shopping adventures? Behind the shopping- what we looked closer at, etc.? Stay tuned for another share this week on what we found and brought home.
Fabulous Fountain
That includes looking for the perfect fountain for this area- and I just.might.have.found.it.already. Any guesses on what it might look like? I am quite obsessed.
Quiet Morning View
Remember last year when I started talking about how I was trying to be more intentional with a simple sipping coffee and watching the sunrise morning routine? I have now added some quiet moments of meditation to that. I sip my coffee and sit in this beautiful little spot under the hazel tree and when the sun comes up from behind the hill across the way and the rays of sunshine start to dance on my skin- I close my eyes and soak it up. I say thank you and reflect, focus on good and letting go of things that are bothering me or negative and I set the intention for the day. When the sun starts to filter through the leaves again- I open my eyes and enjoy more morning coffee. It is just a few minutes of slowing and focusing but has really helped me to shift my internal chatter- which can be a bit overwhelming sometimes. Stay tuned for some meditation posts and tips coming up in August for our slow living series.
Family Gathering
We were all set to have our summer family gathering yesterday- until the forecast was in the triple digits for day.
Wandering
This weeks wandering is all about cleaning and organizing.
In case you missed it- my new Christmas Book is currently marked on SALE for PreOrder. Something people on FB asked about this week was the price change- It says that if you Preorder Now- any price drops before the book arrives will be applied- so you will only pay the best price available when the book comes out. If you haven’t ordered yet-you can do that HERE or click the book below to order.
I shared a post about simple nightstand ideas and Antique books in the 14.5′ dining room cupboard this week.
Love this post with the best tips for cleaning outdoor cushions.
Love this post on coffee table decor- I am always trying to balance between decorative and functional.
Happy Sunday all.
