Happy December 1st- & welcome to the weekend view!
This week it is all about Thanksgiving, travel chaos and something fun.
The best laid plans of mice and men… well, Thanksgiving was officially a quiet one. With snow over the pass shutting down the highway, crazy travel & last minute work changes – it was just my husband and I celebrating together this year.
Neither one of us felt like it was Thanksgiving without the family joining in this year- but we were glad no one was on the road when the conditions were not so great and we spent some time reflecting and giving thanks and chatting on FaceTime with everyone.
Snow…
My daughter lives in the Tahoe area and this was her car- just from day one overnight of the storm.
I guess it is officially the start to ski season up there now for sure.
We are taking a trip her way to bring her some furniture and a few boxes of her Christmas stuff that we have in storage for her. I will report back on how much snow they have now.
Christmas decorating
I did a little more Christmas decorating on Thanksgiving. But this year, my decor is feeling more quiet and natural. I am craving less is more in this busy of the season- and once again- the best laid plans of mice and men has led me to shifting gears in decorating.
I do have my most loved set ups already twinkling away for over a month now- but I also have some rooms that are more serene and quiet Christmas- and I am really loving how they feel.
