I am all about simple and beautiful.
Especially when it comes to the busy- busy of the holiday season.
I am talking about simple and easy tips for setting a beautiful table this holiday season.
even though it looks like you worked on it for hours.
No one has to know.
I won’t tell.
🙂
If you are coming over from Ella Claire-
and thanks to my friend Lory for hosting- you will find all the links to who is joining below.
Lets talk simple tips for adding charm and beauty
Use vintage
Mixed silver-plate, stacks of vintage dishes, glassware- any or all elements add a touch of nostalgic charm
Colorful Candles
Unusual for me in such a bold color as these red ones- but tis the season.
Don’t be afraid to add a pop on the table.
Fresh picked centerpiece
I gathered these ferns from the side of the road and our property to create a runner
then dotted it with persimmons.
Look outside and see what you have in the yard that might work.
Gilded blushing stemware
These are so stunning on the table- and are on repeat often.
Another Go Bold
From my book– grab some of those rich flowers at the market
and create a charming centerpiece that packs a punch of color.
It is all in the details
You don’t need everything on the table to be detailed- one element will do.
For this table- I used some of my favorite dishes- these gorgeous lace beauties (45% off currently) make an elegant statement even if the rest of the table is simple.
Gray linens
I am pretty sure that gray is the new white.
I am such a fan of gray linen on the table- these napkins go with so many color schemes
and add a touch of European simple glam.
Candles
Always on repeat. I love them marching down the table-tall and stately
and in wee glass containers.
Go for the gold
I love a touch of glam on the table. Whether it is gold flatware, gold goblets or chargers-
they all add an elegance.
Fresh greens & blooms centerpiece
This centerpiece was created using juniper and fresh peonies
but you can easily use any fresh greens and flowers on hand.
A tip is to go to your local Lowe’s or HomeDepot where you can pick up branches that have been clipped from Christmas trees for free-or grab a fresh garland for simplicity.
Add a bit of pizazz with dessert
Another styling from my book- this cake is one of my favorites.
Chocolate layer after layer-topped with a white frosting and fresh blueberries, blackberries and figs-
and then embellish with rosemary sprigs & organic roses or sugar flowers.
Most important tip when creating flower topped masterpiece is to make sure to do your research and make sure that any flowers you put on your cake are safe to be on your cake.
If not- choose a sugar flower, paper flower or alternative that is food safe.
And always use a barrier in between any blooms as well.
You can find more in my book- and stay tuned for a delicious peanut butter, chocolate and shortbread cookie coming your way tomorrow.
