Because embracing the magic of each season is always a good idea… especially when it looks like a bouquet of sunshine. Whether you like to buy prearranged bouquets at the market, clip various blooms from your yard or mingle several different wild flowers and garden flowers- adding a touch of the magic of the seasons with flowers is a favorite thing. Sharing a few tips and it is also a sneak peek of something full of seasonal beauty that I will be sharing very soon!
Simple, Wild and Wonderful
I am mildly obsessed with flowers and I do believe they belong in every room in the house all year long. There is something about a bouquet of fresh clipped blooms from the garden that adds a certain magic. Even in the smallest of rooms like the bathroom. Why?
They bring joy. A bit of magic when you walk in the room and they add a touch of charm- even in a hallway or bathroom. Basically, why don’t they belong in every room? I might be biased, but I think they belong everywhere.
I am a big soak in the bath kind of girl and so, my bathroom is also a place where I like to add a touch of seasonal magic. And quite often, it looks like a pitcher full of seasonal flowers like this one.
Seasonal Blooms
You don’t need a garden to enjoy fresh blooms all year long. You could pick wildflowers, gather some wild blooming beauty like sweet peas and even enjoy dandelions in a vase. They might be a pest on your lawn but they are sweet little yellow flowers and of course, have a little ethereal beauty when they look like floating little balls before the seeds fly off.
The farmers markets are a wonderful place to shop local flowers that were just clipped and wrapped up for sale. Our local markets are one of my favorite places to grab seasonal bounty in veggies and in flowers.
Places like Trader Joe’s and local supermarkets also offer a lovely selection of seasonal blooms.
A favorite way to get a custom arrangement is to pick a few of your favorites at the supermarket and mingle them to create something that is perfect for you and your space. Try a bunch of garden roses, seasonal blooms like dahlias or Larkspur, a dainty flower like chrysanthemum and foliage like eucalyptus.
This particular seasonal summer arrangement is a mingle of sunflowers, dahlias, garden roses, eucalyptus and some itty bitty wild blooms tucked in as well.
