What is your favorite go to easy decorating tip when you are running around like a wild person and have just a few minutes to get the house looking pretty for company?
Today it is all about decorating a room, piece, mantel- whatever -and doing it in under 20 minutes.
This is the first post in a new monthly series and I will be joining several friends sharing their 20 minute decor ideas as well – don’t miss all their posts below.
Of course, my absolute favorite way to decorate anywhere quickly will probably not surprise you.
It has to do with one of my favorite things to warm up and finish a room. Fresh flowers.
The best thing about decorating with fresh flowers is that you can use a simple bunch of flowers fresh picked from yard- a bouquet of roses from the supermarket or even just a few clippings of greens. And your bouquet can be as simple or as elaborate as you would like to make it.
For todays bouquet- I went with simple elegance and just 3 ingredients.
Fresh eucalyptus branches
2 dozen Juliet garden roses
White lilac
All by themselves they would each be lovely- and together – even better.
I started with the eucalyptus- and used several bunches of it to give the vase a nice soft green cover. A tip is to use shorter and longer stems of eucalyptus to create layers of lovely.
Up next – add in your white lilac.
I used just a handful of lilac clippings- and placed them somewhat spaced out in the container to create a bit of a base for the roses.
Then it was time for the roses. I picked up 2 dozen David Austin Juliet garden roses- but you can use any type of rose that you would like. The key is to have enough stems to really fill that vase up and round out the arrangement.
I simply tucked them in one at a time here and there until I found a balance that I liked.
A beautiful bouquet on it’s own- and when placed in a room- it will instantly make that space feel cozy and welcoming and add a perfect finishing touch.
Another tip if you are really short on time and are adding a touch of decor to several rooms in a snap- simply split an existing bouquet into several smaller ones and scatter them around your home.
