They say it is all in the details with design, right? And this little potting shed definitely has a whole lot of them. Today is all about this little vintage inspired potting shed table that we recently added to the inside of the potting shed.
Vintage Inspired Potting Shed
You might remember when we built our little potting shed in the spring. A whole lot of shingles and English Cottage Garden charm in the exterior details. And rambling garden paths leading to it. You can see the post from spring HERE
The paths are starting be dotted with oak leaves and acorns and the garden blooms fading to autumn colors and going to seed. A few heirloom pumpkins plopped on the porch as I get ready to style this little deck area for autumn (coming your way!) and this little potting shed was ready for some interior styling for the next cooler season.
To be honest- the ideal design looks kind of like this but not at the same time. I have this old world, antique potting shed look and feeling in mind that will require finding a few specific antique pieces to bring it all together. While I peruse listings to source and look for those things and wait for the perfect fit- that doesn’t mean want to leave this little building bare inside. And I needed to style it for a special project sooner rather than later and so I wandered around and shopped the cottage, the basement treasure trove of collected bits and the barn. And this little vintage this and that potting shed table area came together yesterday. Ready for a peek?
All in the details
Simple. Vintage. Charming. Collected. All of those things and more describe how this little potting area came together. I started with a long narrow table for the back wall and started playing with bits and details. Like dried flowers, vintage cubbies and favorite things like those French bee skeps.
The Vintage Cubby
The vintage cubby is something I have had for years. Back when I was decorating with a lot of chippy painted pieces in vintage colors- this old workshop shelf cubby was something that I found at a local thrift store. Those little shelves and cubbies and perfect for tucking bits into and holding all the things in a work area. Find similar vintage pieces HERE I am not sure it will stay right where it is- we were originally planning to put it up on a wall or tuck it under a window in this space- but I decided to play a bit.
And it landed here in the meantime – and I am kind of loving the vintage workshop, garden shop, you name it kind of vibe it brings.

You have a gift for putting things together and your little shed vignette is no exception….Love the tones in the wood potting bench with the green vintage cubby! The bee skeps, dried flowers, garden tools, clay pots and pumpkins bring it all together. Love! Thank you courtney!

I love the Green color of the cubby and the work table is calling my name. Courtney how tall is it? I love the flowers drying too, it adds a faded charm to everything. Smiles all around.

Ilove that green cubby! That table is great too, is it similiar to the One in the cottage kitchen?
