I might be a bit odd.
I will admit that and I will also say I have no shame in admitting that.

Whimsy talks to me all the time. The unusual and unexpected moments of magic and vignettes are the ones that dazzle me. And I do find magic in the ordinary and the not so ordinary, around the corners and hidden in meadow paths or on the shelves in thrift shops. Basically, I see potential for things and then I get a vision and then I can’t stop my mind from thinking about creating it. So, when I saw a wee vintage boat on marketplace, I knew I needed it.

Not for fishing. I don’t fish. Not really for floating either, but I am okay with floating in a lake or pond for sure. But really, I started thinking about that pond with wee ducks on my someday countryside property and started dreaming up all kinds of photos. And one of them was the boat ‘floating’ in the sweet peas on our property. And so, friends, we did a thing. Why not.
But if said boat has delightful vintage paint, is old wood and full of charm- well, you fall head over heels for it. You put on your boots and hat and climb in and call it good.
Vintage Boat
Is it strange to buy a boat when you don’t fish, you don’t have a pond and you don’t really go out on the water in boats? Well, I suppose. Maybe.

But as crazy as it might seem to buy a little old wooden boat when I don’t have a pond just yet… it actually isn’t the craziest thing I have brought home with me recently. Really. Stay tuned for that story next week.

Until then, I am enjoying sitting in the boat with my boots & hat on, tucked into a sea of wild sweet peas having lots of fun in this whimsical moment for the weekend.

Happy weekend friends.
