You know how it goes, you are minding your own business when the car decides it needs to make a thrift stop. Just because. There are always so many things to find while thrifting- I have decided I no longer need to have an idea of what I would like of find in mind. I go with what speaks to me and let the unknown treasures reveal themselves to me as I shop.
While of course, I am always looking out for certain things, sometimes you just bump into something you didn’t know you needed and now, it is the start of a collection or an obsession.
I know. Me obsessed? Unheard of right? 😂 Well, it is something I consider a character bonus instead of a flaw but yes, I do tend to fall in love with things. Especially things with potential. For a styling, for a photo, for a design job or for simply enjoying. If course there I am obsessed with- here are some of the treasures I have been bringing home on repeat recently. And a what were you thinking kind of crazy thing I brought home recently is coming to the blog. But between you and me… it isn’t even the craziest thing. It is just ONE of the craziest things. Both will be coming your way shortly.
Vintage Scrubbed Pine
Scrubbed pine cupboards, armoires, mirrors, farm tables – you name it. I am obsessed with the natural bleached wood finish of scrubbed pine and absolutely love how those old raw finishes mingle with flowers and more.

TIP: Buy them when you find them. Scrubbed pine pieces are hot commodities for fixing up and reselling so they are scooped up quickly and hard to find at a decent price. So when I do find something that talks to me, it comes home with me. Will be sharing a closer look at this cupboard once it is all moved and styled.

Old Antique Mirrors
I have a wee obsession with antique mirrors. Between you and me, the more dappled and aged the reflection the better. I love the patina they have.

TIP: A tip is to not overlook the glass if you don’t mind the less than perfect reflection. Those ‘imperfections’ often mean better prices and the charm the hazy imperfect mirrors bring is perfection in my opinion.
Well Loved Tables
Farm tables from pine to oak and polished tables with rich hand rubbed finishes and painted tables with dainty floral decals and more. I love a good old table and the stories it tells. While I only have room for so many tables in the house, I use them in all kinds of ways. As dining tables, desks, side tables, outdoor tables, etc.
TIP: Old tables with authentic wear and patina have authentic charm and appeal. Don’t overlook the ones that are less than perfect, they are often the best ones. You can see more of this green table HERE

Vintage Quilts & Linens
I will admit it, I have a hard time resisting a beautiful old quilt. Even with wear, I find them so charming. I have bumped into a few random ones at the thrifts over the past year and they keep on landing in my cart somehow and the next thing you know they are on the clothesline drying in the sunshine.

TIP: Even tattered and less than perfect old quilts are worthy in my opinion. They are lovely as table cloths, as a throw, on guest beds or folded and displayed in an old cupboard.

Floral Painted Furniture
I can’t resist it. I go weak in the knees and have a hard time walking away from something that has old hand painted florals on it. You can see more of these HERE

TIP: I love old floral painted pieces in every room of the house- and you don’t have to use them for their intended purpose. Tuck a dresser in the sunroom to hold magazines and stacks of china. Use nightstands as end tables or as a pedestal for a floral arrangement or stack of books.
