All things merry & bright for the next 2 months and that includes a few charming romantic French cottage Christmas collection. Nostalgic ruffled tree skirts and stockings that are made with rustic vintage inspired floral fabric and have so much charm.
French Cottage Christmas Collection
Several years ago I sat down with some vintage inspired floral fabric that I loved and started tracing and cutting and sewing stockings and tree skirts. I knew I loved the reproduction floral fabric and envisioned them in Christmas decor and sewed the tree skirts and added a ruffled edge with dainty ties. Up next were the stockings with fold over cuffs edged in sweet ruffles and with long ties to allow creating bows to hang them from. I was in love with how they turned out and went on to design and sew 3 other looks and knew that I wanted to somehow create a small collection of stockings and skirts.
Christmas Stockings
I reached out to a couple of linen companies to see if they wanted to chat about producing the designs but between the busy of other things-and trying to find the perfect fit fabric and manufacturing wise- it just didn’t happen for quite a few years. Until now. Since it was a bit of a last minute limited production – in a hurry- we limited it to just 2 fabrics for the collection for now.
These are both made with a textured rustic fabric that holds the shape well. We are exploring 100% linen for the next collection but of course, the pricing would be much higher.
Vintage French Cottage Roses
I am a tad obsessed with this collection. It is so pretty and so vintage inspired. Pops of pretty pink roses with blue/green ribbons and an tea stained aged yellow backdrop- this collection is inspired by vintage tea stained floral fabrics and is so sweet. The stockings are fully lined and have dainty ruffles all the way around the cuff and long ties that you can tie in various lengths.
We also have a matching tree skirt with loose larger ruffle edging and 3 sets of ties to tie around the tree. This is such a gorgeous skirt- fully lined and reversible and a generous 60+” around.
Vintage French Floral
This is a lovely charming vintage warm French floral with scrolling ribbons, coral roses and pretty little pattern details. Find the Vintage French Floral Collection HERE
This one is a more faded and neutral palette and no two stockings and skirts will be just alike as you can see in the various looks above.
They have the same details with the cuff, dainty ruffle and long ties. And we have a matching tree skirt that is fully reversible with longer loose ruffles and long ties.
Both of these patterns turned out so lovely- I am excited to see how the others come together as well. These are the only 2 we have ready stock of this year- both are available for quick ship in the shop right now and they are currently on sale this weekend.
