Christmas cheer comes in all kinds of packages. From those beyond amazing designer trees to those simple touches of Christmas with more quiet twinkling trees. And for the greenhouse this year- it was all about simple beauty.
I know it is the 23rd… Christmas is in just 2 more sleeps. But I decided to get this tree up and twinkling away last night.
Vintage & Simplicity
We have had the vintage lights on the greenhouse since November. I took it upon myself to spread Christmas cheer with allllll the neighbors & anyone who walks by with those pastel colored lights shining bright. haha. They love me. (well, okay, not so sure!) But hey- it is festive season and if everyone is staying home so much- why not have an extra helping (or 5) of Christmas magic, non? 🙂
For the greenhouse this year- I wanted to set up a tree in the veggie garden area. Which right now, looks more like the fallen leaf winter garden area.
Tip: Use muted colors on a frosted tree for a simple timeworn look
This is a Frosted Balsam Fir- and it has just the right amount of warm candlelight to create a cozy glow. I kept the baubles very simple. Just a handful of blush, sage, blue and gold. I almost didn’t decorate it with anything- but love how just a few ornaments echoes the warmth of the greenhouse twinkles.
Tip: Bring nature inside -or use what nature is providing outside- for part of the look
The stack of logs was originally just where my husband was stacking some wood for winter. But you know- it turned into a beautiful backdrop and so, he started another wood pile to use before this one so I could enjoy it longer.
That stack of logs and leaves under the tree bring in that beautiful texture that nature provides and also creates a warm & cozy feeling.
Something funny things about this tree shoot – I was working outside and got a bit chilly as the sun dipped behind the trees- so I grabbed the faux fur tree skirt I had brought out for this tree and wrapped up with it. And it was so cozy and warm – I loved it while I worked away.
And then a neighbor walked by on the path near the greenhouse and stopped and stared. So, yeah, me wearing a tree skirt & a twinkling tree next to a greenhouse? I told you, the neighbors love me. And think I am crazy. haha.
Stay tuned for more including a fun video tour of the magic appearing around the house this Christmas- and a favorite Christmas Eve post coming your way tomorrow.
What do you think of this tree? Even though this tree is simple rather than super designed- I love how it looks in the greenhouse garden- and I love that little bit of extra Christmas cheer it adds to this space.
Merry almost Christmas all.

I Love it…so warm and majestic. the lights on the greenhouse reflect perfectly on it. where did you find those pastel lights????
Courtney says
They are LED lights- so I think that is why they glow more pastel than the traditional. My husband picked them up at our local Ace Hardware.
