Do you love using mason jars in decor and tablescapes as much as I do?
They are simple. Charming. Easy to find and inexpensive~ but they make
such a sweet little addition to a table or decoration.

You can find them brand new at the store or
watch the thrifts and flea markets for them or just wash out a pickle jar or sauce jar.
My grandfather used to have a whole shelf full of them
that he would store the nails, screws and bits in in his workshop.
A small one is perfect for sipping lemonade on a Summer day
or for holding just a few blooms from the garden.
Or use a large one for a bigger bouquet or more impact.
I also love to use them as the perfect candle holder to place along a path or steps for an evening party.
The glass jar makes the centerpiece container for the peonies on this table-
so sweet and rustic.
I had a few jars out the other day and played with a couple of them with some roses from our yard
and I grabbed a few shots before the rose blooms started wilting in the crazy heat

I so love mason jars for so many things- my dad kept his nails in baby food or pickle jars! you make mason jars look like glass from Tiffany…

Those jars are one of the most useful items in the house! From drinks to vases to storing spices or pre-making cookie mixes; I have tons of them and love them!
I always choose jars over vases, they are my "Go To" for everything. Love your pictures in this post!

Even for me, the girl who loves fine things, these jars evoke a special memory…and I love them. So does my daughter and all her vintage things. So pretty.
I love them also, but only recently started using them for decor. They have always been used for canning in my family, and had to be returned to whoever did the canning to be refilled! I am now using three of them to hold various flowering things in my box on the dining table. I don't, however, have any desire to drink from one. It just makes me think I'm drinking pickle juice or something. I guess they are still more utilitarian that decorative for me!

I love jars also! I have some vintage ones that I could not part with. You make them look so pretty! Whoever thought canning jars would become so popular?
OMGosh! I JUST went out and bought canning jars to use for drinking cups! TODAY! We have horrible water here and the dishwasher isn't a miracle worker, so since the old glasses were old (not vintage), they got added to the Garage Sale pile. LOVE the farmhouse feel of jars! Awesome post, Girlfriend!!

We used them in our daughter's wedding in June to hold the bouquets on the tables after the ceremony. I wrapped some twine around them to add just a little texture…Been loving them after the wedding for holding Daisies. The other little bottles/jars I love are the ones that the Starbucks frapp drinks come in at the grocery store. So cute with a little twine, also, and a single bright flower in each one.

Sorry, I don't know how to do the link -y thing…but here's a link to my picture of the mason jar after the wedding wrapped with twine. Ha, I do love all kinds of glass. Also have some old milk bottles that I use from time to time to vary the height.

I remember when I first met my husband in 1990 and he had been on a Carnival cruise and he had several small ones with handles on them. They were used for drinking from and then you were able to keep them.
I always thought these jars had several uses. I used medium ones filled with colored buttons that I purchased from the thrift store as a display. Also, if you have baby ones you could put crayons in them and bigger ones for pens near the phone.
