There is something about warm summer nights dining out under the stars. Whether it is a little table for two in the garden, a quiet spot by the lion fountain for a bistro set or a long table to entertain friends and family. Setting a beautiful table is a favorite thing over here. And the method to my madness? Pretty on repeat, ambiance & simple elegance. Today it is all about a country cottage table style.
Spring and summer style- Country Cottage Table
I shared this table setting on Instagram earlier this week and got so many questions and requests for the links to get the look- so I thought it would be a perfect Friday Favorites reshape today. I hope you enjoy another look at this sunshine filled table- Happy Friday everyone!
Country Cottage Table Style
What is it about big old buffalo checks? I have a wee bit of a love affair with them. And a confession. I am in love with this tablecloth so much that I bought several colors of it. It is just.plain.gorgeous.
Feeling Green- Cottage Table Linens
The colorful flowers led me in the green table linen direction. This vintage green color is a perfect mingle with the pop of coral.
Tip: Choose linens that add another layer of style to your table. Whether that means coordinating the colors, keeping it plain and simple or creating a beautiful contrast for some drama.
Layers of Lovely
I grabbed simple white dishes, golden sunshine yellow wine glasses and vintage silver flatware for the country cottage inspired place settings.
Tip: It is all about the mix and mingle- not the matchy-matchy. Simple modern plates with vintage elegant monogrammed flatware and etched glasses create an interesting look on the table.
Beauty in Bloom
Beautiful flowers are always on the table setting plan- and these gorgeous pops of pretty are beyond beautiful.
With ruffly peonies, ranunculus and dahlias in shades of coral- these arrangements are a perfect pairing with the green and white on the table.
These flowers are faux arrangements and are perfection for enjoying indoors and outdoors on the table.
Twinkle Light Ambiance
You know me. And you know if I am doing any entertaining outside – there are going to be twinkle lights involved. This little spot is in the cottage courtyard patio- and that big branchy tree above the table was perfect for stringing a few twinkle lights on.
Tip: Twinkling trees, lit topiaries placed around the table will bring in an extra layer of ambiance as evening low light arrives.
Beautiful Backdrop
Tip: Creating a beautiful backdrop with lit topiaries and trees is always a lovely way to bring in more ambiance- but think of opportunities to add a repeat of the colors you are using on the table. A wreath on the cottage door adds another layer of color and draws your eye to pick up details in the distance.

Hi Kim! I ordered the Antique Green as well. I also have the napkins and have noticed that they don’t seem to make them all out of the exact same material and in the same exact color though. So, maybe the dye lot for yours was a bit darker?

hi COURTNEY I SIMPLY LOVE THE CASUAL ELEGANCE OF YOUR STYLE AND HAVE A SIMILAR TYLE ON OUR GARDEN PATIO ADJACENT TO THE CHICKENS ABODE AND RUN,
MY QUESTION IS NOW I HAVE UPDATED MY COUNTRY DINING TABLE TO A LARGER ONE, I PREVIUSLY HAD ONE PAINTED CHANGELIER SIMPLY HANGING FROM A VERY LARGE TREE, BECAUSE OF THE INCREASE OF SIZE IN THE NEW DINING ROOM TABLE SHOULD I ADD ANOTHER CHANDELIER? I DO HAVE ANOTHER TWIN OF THE EXISING ONE JUST NEEDING PAINTING AND SPRUCING.
