While sifting through some of the stuff I had piled up in my junque area, I rediscovered this little petite pot rack that I had found quite awhile back at a thrift store.
Originally, it was black and chippy, but I saw potential.
I thought the scrolly little curves were adorable and the little size was perfect for hanging lavender bouquets or charms or something from.
So I painted it white with a spray paint and then distressed it a bit to show off it’s rust and crust patina and used it in a display I had for a bit and then it sat stored away.

I was planning to list it for sale so I left it out out of the box and got back to work.
But as I relaxed in the bath that evening, I had this inspiration.
For some reason I was thinking about that pot rack and how cute it is and thought, why not use it to make a bed crown for my daughters bed?
Hey, everyone has a pot rack above their bed, right?

She had a little wood bunny and typesetter letter above her headboard on the wall and while it was charming, I was thinking a bed crown with fringe and yards of fabric would be perfect!

I had this antique satin scarf valance in a gorgeous pearly cream shade that was fringed all along one side.
This thing is like 200″ long- perfect!
I tacked it to the inside of the pot rack, using safety pins of all things, and bunching and draping the fabric lengths to fill the inside of the rack and fall to the floor behind her headboard.
Then I put the ‘A’ typesetter letter in the center of the swags to finish it.
It isn’t perfect and could use a bit of tweaking but it does look so charming!

I love that this little old vintage pot rack that was tossed aside became something so charming with a bit of paint and imagination!
Flaunt it Fridays
