Last week I shared a brassy vintage gold gallery wall made up simply of
empty frames and vintage mirrors.
Some of the mirrors were non conformers when I brought them out-
meaning they weren’t that brassy gold color I was looking for.
But they were the right shape or had the right details so they needed a bit of paint to get
them to blend in.

This mirror was in my bedroom above the fireplace awhile back and it was dry brushed with a white originally. It was okay in that finish and it’s simple to go back to when I change my mind.
Another little mirror in the gallery wall
was red when I bought it-and it has been about 5 different colors since.
To create the vintage gold patina it wears now
I started with Annie Sloan Chalk paint in Duck Egg Blue
A coat of the blue covered the red perfectly.
Up next~ came a layer of metallic gold craft paint brushed on
but not in every nook and cranny.
I just layered the gold over the smooth areas for good coverage
and on the details simply brushed it on lightly.
The next step was to rub a bit of that gold away.
I used a cloth while the paint was not fully dry and rubbed it along the areas I wanted more
blue to show through and then let it dry.
A light layer of Annie Sloan dark wax on the top
and it was finished.
Easy easy easy and I love how it turned out.
Oh yes, and the Gallery Wall has stayed up in the hallway.

It's Folk Art craft store paint I think- I already tossed it out. I am sure you can use any metallic you like and get a similar look.
