Welcome to the weekend view. This week it is all about vintage scores, decking the halls, house chickens and something fun.
Deck the halls
I am decking the halls here yet. I mentioned I was moving a tad slower this year with my bum shoulder- thankfully it is feeling much better but I am taking it easy with pushing it too much because it definitely seems like it only takes something small to aggravate it.
I did get the front door dressed with fresh greens – will be sharing that here next week.
We have had a couple of houseguests this week. It started when we found one of the frizzle babies injured when we opened the coop in the morning. It looks as if something attacked him on the back during the night or early morning. Won’t share the photos here but here is a photo of the grandma chicken for a few smiles.
We cleaned and disinfected the wound and have been keeping him in a cage near the fire in the house. He seems happy, loves to chatter and is healing well. We figured it was another bird picking on him- but a few days later we found the grandma silkie with a similar injury. So now we have 2 house guests and are not sure what happened. We have set up a ring camera and are keeping an eye on the coop during the night.
I have been shopping some vintage treasures again- I swear it is addicting! I brought home a couple of antiques for some upcoming photoshoot. Here is a sneak peek at one of them- will share more of this antique farm table next week. It is LOVE.
If you have been perusing Home Depot online or stopped in the store recently- you might see a familiar face. Home Depot reached out early summer to ask if I was available to design a room for their catalog as a featured designer.
I was so honored to be asked- and designed a room from flooring choice to doors and beamed ceiling and fireplace to furniture and Christmas touches. I sent over the layout and finishes and they built the room at their studio for the catalog. They did a great job capturing some of my personal style for the room- the naked cake with flowers, garland with fresh flowers and bows on the fireplace all some of my favorites.
When the catalog arrived- I was so surprised to see my room design on the cover as well. A bit of a pinch me moment!
Coming your way
More Christmas and more merry all through the house. I am working on a candlelight tour as well as a couple other trees coming your way along with simple decorative touches. If there is anything specific you would like me to cover – let me know!
Happy Weekend All.
