Welcome to the weekend view. This week is a hot one in a lot of places and so the weekend is looking a lot like staying inside and trying to stay cool. But last week- we were out in the garden doing some work to get ready for that new garden area we are working on. I had a few flowers in the house to play with and got some deep cleaning done before our Christmas in July party coming up next week. And I might have found a few treasures while junking last week too.
Vintage Cherub
A sneak peek of a most amazing vintage find- I am in love with it already and haven’t even gotten it put anywhere yet. But you know when you find a perfectly weathered and worn, ‘crustic’ garden element- it is a good thing. Excited to share more of this soon.
Garden Blooms
The garden is a bit in between at the moment. A lot of spent blooms getting trimmed off and new buds forming for another flush. The foxgloves are not in bloom at the moment but they are in the garden drying out. One of the things I read a few years ago about foxgloves is to let them dry in the garden because they will drop a lot of seeds which will bring more foxgloves. And if you are like me and you can’t get enough of foxgloves- well that is something you definitely want to do.
Grand Babies
The grand babies are always such a treat for us to see when we have family dinner with everyone. We moved it to a day mid week last week because the weekend temperatures are supposed to be in the 108-110 range which is a big no bueno for doing anything other than staying cool inside. Even though our oldest has a pool – it is too hot to go out and swim until it cools down in the evening a bit.
Ansley had ‘tea’ with Juju at her new little table.
Enzo is teething a bit and loves chewing on anything and everything.
And Jionni is a little grinny guy – already 6 months old. They are all growing up so fast!
Vintage Green Bench
I have been a bit obsessed with all things green lately. And I know I mentioned the green bench I found- I finally had some time to play with it a bit and moved it indoors to clean- and it landed in a perfect spot and stayed there. I will share more of it this week.
And in other news- as you can see, I got a box of books last week! So exciting to hold your book and of course, stacks of books is a lovely little thing too. As I mentioned last week, you can pre-order your copy of my new Christmas book on Amazon and also pre-order signed copies in my shop as well. The book releases August 29th, 2023.
On Amazon: French Country Cottage Christmas
In my Shop: Signed Copy of French Country Cottage Christmas

These painted coasters are so cute.
And in case you missed it- I shared a few ideas for hosting a simple and beautiful Christmas in July gathering that you can use to add ambiance to any kind of party this summer.
Happy Weekend everyone! Stay cool!

What a great find with the cherub! With all the heat around us I’m truly glad we live in the midwest as i just cannot handle high heat and humidity..stay cool and be safe.
Tiny Jionni is upside down…such a sweet photo. Good luck on the book. I’m sure it’s beautiful and i hope you post some photos on the blog.

I am not sure why that photo keeps turning upside down! Must be some kind of a glitch- I have fixed it several times.

I never knew that foxglove would drop seeds if left to dry in the garden. I love foxglove and will try that. The cherub is so fabulous. I look forward to seeing it in place once you decide where to put it.
Stay cool.
